At Maple & Hash's newly-opened West Dundee location, diners can look forward to a classic breakfast and lunch experience elevated by the addition of their distinctive craft coffee and cocktail offerings. While the menu features familiar favorites that cater to a variety of palates, the true stars of the show are the creative concoctions such as the 'Lavish Oat Latte' and the refreshing 'Lavish Lemonade.' The combination of well-loved dishes and innovative beverages invites guests to relax and savor the comforting ambiance while delighting in the unique and enticing flavors that set Maple & Hash apart from the rest.
As a local resident, I was eager to visit Maple & Hash's new location in West Dundee, not because of Google's persistent recommendations but due to my desire to explore fresh culinary experiences in my vicinity.
Maple & Hash has chosen an exciting location, which I would describe as a "restaurant graveyard." Several establishments have come and gone in this seemingly prime location, surrounded by residential areas and situated on an active street. I hoped that Maple & Hash could break this mysterious cycle of failure.
Upon arrival with my family, I planned to concentrate on the food offerings rather than the craft beverages, as I wasn't inclined to drink at 9 AM on a Sunday morning. Bringing my family allowed us to sample a variety of dishes, and my sister, who follows a strict diet, would test the restaurant's adaptability.
The decor was inviting, the atmosphere casual, and the music was set at an appropriate volume. We were greeted by three hostesses, which seemed like a large number, but I presumed the restaurant would get busier later in the day. Despite being filled with patrons, we were seated immediately.
Our waitress, Veronica, was prompt and attentive, as were the other waitstaff, even with the high volume of customers.
I ordered the Breakfast Sliders, which were adequate but somewhat oily and under-seasoned. They arrived later than expected, as the manager had the eggs remade due to breakage on the first attempt, even though I never requested it to be redone. I would have been content with the initial dish, but the manager kindly offered to comp the item. However, I found that I was still charged for the original order after examining the bill. The Breakfast Sliders appeared twice on my check, and the "Pre-discount Subtotal" reflected the cost of all the other items plus two servings of breakfast sliders.
The Lavish Oat Latte, available in both hot and cold versions, was a standout offering. Aromatic and delicious, it's a beverage that must be experienced firsthand, especially for espresso latte enthusiasts.
My niece's Bacon Cheddar Egg Sandwich featured perfectly cooked bacon, delicately seasoned scrambled eggs, and a generous portion of tasty hash browns.
My sister's Veggie Skillet, customized to her dietary preferences, was also enjoyable, thus showing their ability to adapt and accommodate.
In conclusion, Maple & Hash provides a satisfactory breakfast and lunch experience with exceptional coffee offerings. I'm curious to try their cocktails in the future and hope they can withstand the location's...
Read moreI’d like to start off that I’m a generous reviewer, often rounding up and giving establishments benefit of the doubt, especially when I want them to succeed - such as with this new breakfast spot in a location that has historically struggles for whatever reason.
I don’t know if I am cursed in this building, but I’ve now dined here under 3 different restaurants and have yet to have an experience that would bring me back.
For starters, they’ve done a fantastic job with the ambiance and it’s definitely got the breakfast/brunch vibe going - so one star there.
My wife ordered the Strawberry cheesecake waffles and instead received some Mixed berry with cream waffles, which she said were good, but wasn’t what she ordered. I ordered a Meat Lovers skillet and added mushrooms. The first time I was brought a Mexican skillet and they realized the error and brought it back. The 2nd time they hurriedly brought out another skillet and without digging around too much and figuring they had gotten it right, I took a few bites and I noticed spinach (which isn’t a deal breaker, I’ll eat it) this was a veggie skillet. A couple minutes later they walked up with my original order and since I had already started on what they gave me the second time around, I just kept what I had. For what it was, it was not bad and they comped my meal. One star here.
With an abundance of options for breakfast in the area, I can’t see us coming back; however, I wish you guys best of luck in getting it right and being the place that...
Read moreLet me start by saying I am NOT a review person at all. With that being said I was blown away by my experience here this weekend. My husband, two dogs and I were In town from Alabama visiting my family, so we needed dog friendly places to go. We got there on a Saturday morning and got seated on the patio immediately. Our server (I really wish I could remember his name but he was tall blonde with glasses) got our drink orders and brought a water bowl for our pups and even made sure whenever he came out to not startle the dogs by being behind them. I love when people are that considerate. We got our food and it was just amazing! I got eggs Benedict and my husband got the chilaquiles. It wasn’t a bright sunshiny day and it started to drizzle a little bit and they don’t have a covered patio. To my shock one of the workers, I think she may have been a manager, asked us if we wanted to go inside!! We politely declined and said if it gets worse we would take her up on that offer. Now I don’t know if that is their typical protocol or if my dogs were just behaving that well but that kind of service is unheard of. Thank you for providing such great service to us and our dogs. We will always go there when we come visit with or...
