Taqueria El Tio Ramos — Restaurant in Dundee Township

If you told me that there was another restaurant in town with better tacos than this place, I would dismiss you out of hand and possibly call you a liar.

If you told me that there was another restaurant in the county with better tacos than this place, I would be skeptical.

Great steak tacos. Very unassuming. Very casual atmosphere. (Bright orange walls, bright florescent lights, little to no climate control.) Slightly higher than typical prices.

Probably not an ideal date spot, unless your date is more impressed by great tacos than anything else.

Before I left the restaurant, I went up to the cashier to tell her how great the tacos were, and she said "I know."

Of course she knew. It is indisputable.

Update: my wife and I still dine at this restaurant, and it is still awesome. We don't live particularly close to it and have to drive by a dozen or so other Mexican restaurants...

Quality of food is great! Seasoned well and taste fresh..3 stars for portion sizes..this was 3 taco dinner that is 3 tacos in the foil..small amout of beans and rice for the price point..

Updated review...went in Tuesday for the burrito special, the food always is good, had a hair in my burrito noticed after eating the other half as it was cut in half when brought to the table, I am bald lol, the server acted as if I put the hair in it myself, it was actually all the way through the burrito and wrapped around the lettuce, she made us feel as if we were trying to get free food and made comments like well now you have food for later even after I said I didn't want a replacement and kept saying things like it doesn't look like the cooks hair, anyhow it was uncomfortable, embarrassing, and awkward, probably won't return even though I like...

I came here for CINCO DE MAYO 2021. Wow, what a hot mess! They had a lot of people in the kitchen. But not enough people taking orders. Not enough waitresses for the floor. One of them was brand new and didn’t even know what comes on a tostada, burrito or a taco! Come on! That’s simple stuff!

There were about 6 different tables, EVERYBODY had empty drinks. And no food. The waitresses were catering to the “to go” orders more. We got half our drinks, and I had to ask for my wife’s drinks. One table was waiting for over 45 mins and they just ordered tacos and burrito.

The management here really messed up, especially for Cinco De Mayo. I won’t be coming back here. Poor management. Very low service and with high...
