We are new in town and just happened upon Pete's today. Greeted as we walked in the door with a 'Hey, how are you?' in a familiar tone that was so great. We felt immediately comfortable! So you had us at your hellos! Sheree took care of us and promised we would love the food. Wow was she right!! My husband ordered Traditional Eggs Benedict and I pulled a 'Harry Met Sally' and ordered 2 poached eggs, home fries, a bagel, slices of tomatoes, and cream cheese. And coffee. My husband cleared his plate and i have never seen that! The coffee was so good, my poached eggs were exactly as I hoped, tomato slices were huge and juicy, bagel toasted to perfection, and the home fries.....I can't stop thinking about them! These are not typical home fries, to me at least. They are cut almost like a scalloped potato, and they are soft and crispy at the same time. We didn't bother with salt or ketchup, no need! Normally I eat more ketchup than home fries but not here. It was a delightful surprise to find this great restaurant and I highly recommend it!!! We are new to town so we even got some tips on places to dine locally for dinner. Thank you to Pete's and...
Read moreIn the Dunedin area after a couple early appointments and looking for a brunch spot. A quick check of higher ratings pulled up Pete’s. And the comments affirmed that, so we were off. Found it easily and glanced at today’s specials then were seated immediately.
We glanced over the menu. My eyes caught the Biscuits & Gravy but then I spotted the Pete’s Scramble. Biscuits & Gravy with scrambled eggs & cheese, topped with crisp Bacon! It was tough because everything looked great. Especially the food at the tables around us.
My wife discovered the Scramble Bowl. It reminded her of her Father’s Hillbilly Stew served three times a day when squirrel hunting with Dad and three boys. One pound Bacon fried crisp. Add one large Onion diced and 5 pounds of par boiled potatoes. Then finish with a dozen eggs. Sounded boring when I joined them but after several hours walking in the woods, it was great.
I also ordered a side of cheese grits to share but both our plates were huge, so half went home for another day.
Service was great, food was excellent. Great prices. My wife is already planning to bring her...
Read moreThis review is for this visit. I went there with my family to eat lunch. It wasn't crowded fortunately, so we were able to seat ourselves, which you do here, right away. I ordered an omelet with avocado, tomatoes, ham, cheese, and sausage with grits, toast, and a side of pancakes. it was all delicious. My mom ordered a salad with chicken. not sure what the salad was called, sorry, but she really enjoyed it and she is honestly really picky so for her to like it means a lot. She commented how the chicken was tender and tasty. Our server was very nice and good. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants really good food and service at very reasonable prices. I honestly was looking forward to going there because I enjoyed my food the last time I was there. It was also my first time there. I can't...
