I just so happened to have to go wash clothes at a laundry mat. Next to the laundry mat is a little pub so i decided to go in and have a beer only because the laundry falsely advertised a/c. I order a bud light on draft since they were running a special. The bartender/co-owner was making personal jokes based off our (my african american female friend and i) I.D. cards. We were upset and only ordered two drafts so we did not leave a large tip. We left and put our clothes in dryer and came back. My friend walked toward the bathroom and was basically followed/watched as she headed that way then asked what she wanted to drink. She ordered one draft and went to bathroom. The bartender/co-owner brought me two drafts and then demanded immediate payment after my friend only ordered 1 (one) for herself. We were shocked. We said okay, paid, and said we will just sit right here then he said "oh, if your sitting right here at the bar i can watch you but if you sit at a table you gotta pay first." Even though he just made us pay upfront in front of people. I was flabbergasted and sipped my beer and enjoyed casual conversation with my friend for 12mins as the bartender made jokes with another patron about not being tipped even though he was indeed tipped. So bad experience overall and i nor my friend will NEVER go again. Establishment owners seem biased towards some...

My first night in town ended there and I had a great time talking to the owners and playing (electronic) darts with a regular; a super nice guy. Two nights later, upon returning by rideshare from the golf tournament, I realized my phone had slipped out of my pocket in the backseat. I was quite distraught especially when no one I had met at my VRBO was home. What to do? I remember feeling quite "safe" at Simon's so walked there and told Mike?, my tale of woe. He immediately jumped into action to contact my rideshare (turns out not an easy task) despite the time demands of his kitchen duties. Other patrons hearing our conversation joined in and eventually my phone was found and returned. this 69 year old Western Canadian is eternally grateful to the owners/staff and patrons who saved my little holiday. I pledge to return (hopefully with my wife to take care of me ... ha ha) and personally thank all those involved AND enjoy all the great things about Simon's! Thank you and "sorry" for the trouble. (had to get "sorry" in there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe happened to be staying at an Airbnb just two blocks away from Simon's so we were able to walk there. Parking is limited, but luckily that was not a problem for us. The atmosphere is what you make of it, it is just kind of a corner cozy bar. Not a fancy place, not a trendy place, just comfortable.. we had to sit outside because we had our fur baby with us, but we went inside for the restrooms and to grab a menu. We were there early, at 11:00, for an early lunch. We had a different waitress each day but both of them were fantastic. They brought out freshwater for our fur baby and even cut up the hamburger for him that we had ordered.. the prices were great, we went on a Monday when they had hamburger special and again on Tuesday with the taco special. My husband had the cheesesteak one day said it was delicious, we loved the cheeseburgers, and buddy, our fur baby, loved...
