A good local spot right on the trail. The highlight of this place is the staff. Jenny was courteous and super nice. The eggs Benedict are awesome. The coffee is great; strong yet smooth. I've never been asked if I needed to refresh my coffee so much before lol. Improvements: 1. Crepes are too salty and the whipped cream on them is too cold. 2. First restaurant I've been where table wasn't cleared, so you sit there finishing your coffee with plates all over your table. 3. Please stop NICKLE-N-DIMING. Or at least let me know if it's going to be extra money. I was charged $.50 for brown sugar. I asked for strawberry crepes and was charged $2.25 for the strawberries. I'm surprised I wasn't charged for the whole milk I requested. Overall a good place. I am looking forward to more Benedicts, their homemade sangria, and checking out their live entertainment in the future.

It was my first time at the New Home Plate! After reading critical unfounded comments on the Dunedin Facebook group I decided to go have breakfast. Being a former restaurant owner I was disappointed to read rude comments and wanted to let people know how it really is! I was sat immediately and my coffee was promptly brought out. My server, Taylor was awesome! The omelet was amazing and everyone was working together to serve the guests! The cook was fast and she was working alone at the time. People don't understand how difficult working in a restaurant is. I was more than satisfied with my experience and I look forward to having another meal here! 😋 thank you!!

A quaint medium sized restaurant directly across from the Dunedin Library. The host was visibly taken aback by our request to sit next to the window. It was the first time I experienced a cup of tea with no additional hot water (the small pitcher). But, I asked for it and it was provided. I asked for water and it never came. The crepes were delicious and the food looked pictured perfect. But, the grits were lukewarm which made them really thick. The hostess was civil but, did not feel welcoming. My impression was honoring a customers request to sit in a certain area was not a normal customer service practice (odd).

I ate here for the first time about 2 months ago. It was great, a home run. Service excellent, food same. I was looking forward to eating there again which I did this past Saturday morning. To continue with baseball puns, they struck out. Did not have the same server, but she was there, wish she had waited on us. I asked for orange juice, didn't get it. Asked for Tabasco Sauce, didn't get it. The sausage patties were not very good, in fact they were lousy. Didn't even eat all of the first patty. Left about half the food on the plate, couldn't wait to get out of there. No reason the service was that bad, it really wasn't very busy when we were there. The crummy service might have began when the server who did not take our order brought our food b/c evidently it was sitting in the window (Glad she did). Our server didn't come by the table to ask how things were until I had pushed my plate away. She did recall she forgot the orange juice and asked if I still wanted it, I said no. She didn't bring up the Tabasco, I guess she either forgot or realized it was too late. I'm giving it two stars instead of one b/'c the first time was great. I had intended a third person was going to join us after me bragging about the place from the first time. Schedule conflicts came up for that person, glad they were not there, I would have been...

The food here is absolutely amazing, I love going in. Prices are super super fair. The only complaint I have is when I call in food; I understand they get busy. I have called in food on THREE different occasions including today, and when Taylor, the older blonde lady answers she immediately puts the phone down and tells me it will be a few minutes. She proceeds to check everyone else in. I understand as a server, you are busy and have a million things going on, I acknowledge that. With that said, this is the THIRD time this has happened. She makes me wait over 15 minutes and I even hear them saying “why has the phone been sitting here ?” And hang up. I was patiently waiting, and now I have to go drive to the location, go inside to see what was up. I had something to say about it and of course Taylor was rude when I asked why this happens only when she picks up the phone. She denies ever doing that and was as rude as could be when I said no it is always when you pick up. Of course she’s going to say that because I have not addressed it until now!! I have been in there long enough to know who is who. If you are going to eat there, request a different server. Taylor is not it. That’s my only complaint. If you want to call in food, make sure it is anyone else, because you’re not going to get it when she...

The food is excellent, as is the outdoor patio for those who wish to social distance. Great wait staff. However, there was very strange entertainment going on for Noon brunch on a Saturday. I can only describe it as a karaoke DJ act, where someone played records and the frontman sang and told jokes. A very original act and one that I am sure goes over very well in a bar at night or a social occasion. However, for a mid-day brunch crowd in a quiet area along the Pinellas Trail, it was jarring. The volume was very loud, making it impossible to converse across the table with my companion, This is expected in a nightspot, but in what is a de facto dining room, albeit outdoors, it is a poor choice. I am used to seeing guys with guitars doing this in daylight hours in various spots around town, but not this. Nevertheless, I will return for the food, but if this is happening out back on the patio, I...
