So many pizza joints in Dunmore. Calabria Pizza seems to be one of the go-to places for families. We were brought here by a friend who came here a lot with family back in the day.
We had the Old Forge Pizza, which is a huge, thick crust rectangular pizza. We ordered one tray with half mushrooms and half bacon. The pizza had a nice crispy bottom and the cheese was very creamy like Alfredo sauce. I love thick crust pizza and mushrooms so I really enjoyed it. It's a very unique style of pizza. Something you won't find outside of this PA area so I highly recommend it if you're craving pizza.
We started off with the garlic knots. They were good and plentiful. The marinara sauce was a little sweet. I was not impressed with the other items we ordered. The Linguine with Clams in white sauce was really bland. The white sauce was just butter and the noodles were cooked a little too long. The pasta comes with a side salad, but they forgot to bring it to us until we asked, towards the end of dinner. The fried calamari looked more like onion rings and I didn't like the breading they used. We also had fries with buffalo sauce and cheese and jalapeno poppers. Both are your typical fried, cheesy appetizers.
The portion size of the dishes are pretty generous and it's not expensive at all. Service was decent. For some reason, they gave us paper to-go cups for water while all of the other tables got plastic cups.

If you're visiting, passing through, on a date, or just need to impress someone with great foodâjust do it. Get the pizza. Calabria is now a permanent part of our family's Scranton routine.
We make it a point to try new pizza spots whenever weâre in town. Yesterday, while I was working in Dunmore cleaning and repairing gutters (shoutout to my business www.bsgutterrepair.com), my son said, âMom says to pick up a pizza before we head back to Stroudsburg.â I started searching for the best pizza in Scranton, and Calabria came upâtucked right under a few chain listings that were sponsored (paid for).
We called in and ordered the Mega Meat Pizza and a half cheese, half pepperoni round pie. Weâve tried the famous tray-style pizzas in Scranton, but weâre traditionalistsâwe want a round pie!
And let me tell youâthis was beyond perfect. The fire-lined roast on the dough gave it a crisp, flavorful char. The cheese blend (I shouldâve asked what they use!) was perfectly layered. The meats were loaded generously, and the flavor balanceâbetween dough, cheese, salt, and a slight sweetnessâwas heavenly.
This was hands-down the most delicious round pizza Iâve ever had. I donât go around rating food often, because taste is personal and built on years of experience and preferenceâbut this was that pizza.
Do yourself a favor. Skip the chains. Hit Calabria. I had some this morning, and honestlyâitâs even better...
Read moreHave taken out from this place a few times because it was recommended by a family member. The service is fast and friendly, which is all any customer could ask for besides the quality of the food. And let me tell you, the food is great. The pizza has a distinctive sweet flavor compared to other places I've had, and it's really good. Round or square, it's delicious. I also wanted to give a shout out to the super friendly gentleman who answered the phone and gave me other recommendations when I asked if they delivered and he sadly said that they don't. That was super polite, especially after he said about 80 other people asked him the same question. I appreciate the patience you had, and I hope all of the hungry customers looking for delivery prompted you to consider it haha. You'll be getting my business plenty...
