I have to preface this review by stating that I grew up Italian, in the 90's, in Jessup. My family are the Betti's, and I am well-aware of what this establishment once was. That being said, my family and I recently had been in Italy and I have been making a LOT of recipes calling for Parmigiano Reggiano since our return, and I quickly finished what I brought back from the trip. Having bought a few hunks of 24mo aged blocks (Imported from Italy) from the local Wegman's - I decided I'd take a skip over to Doma's. I ran this idea past my Mom and she warned me against going and said I'd likely be disappointed.... What did I have to lose? I work in Dunmore, so a ride over to Doma on my lunch break is no sweat, right? Wrong. I get to Doma's, put two quarters in the parking meter across the street, and head over. Upon entering the store, you will see all the dry goods on the right, and everything else on the left. Lots of pastas, canned tomatoes, ect. I headed back to the cooler where I saw some cheeses- which was all the way back in the far left corner of the store. Inside the cooler on the top shelf were three rows of cheeses. From left to right- Parmigiano Regianno, Asiago, and MOLDY Parmigiano Regianno (3-4 hunks ranging in price). I should have just turned around and come back to work, but I was determined. I grab a $25 hunk of alleged Parmigiano Regianno from the non-moldy side, with no use-by date, aged for time, no weight, price per pound, nothing other than "25.01" and Parmigiano Regianno on the bag. Handed the brother my debit card, he uncovers the card processing machine from underneath a towel (weird), and processes my payment. Upon returning to my car, I took a small nibble sized chunk off the tip of alleged cheese, and I knew this was far from a decent quality and properly aged Parmigiano. And you guessed it- as soon as I arrived back to work (5min later) I vomited into my trash can. No warning, just projectile vomit at my desk. I am going to venture a guess that the "cheese" was the culprit. I do not recommend anyone visit this place as it is a far cry from what it once was. I will attach a photo of the "cheese" I brought back from Doma's that will never be eaten. One half hour and $25.01 down the tubes. Shoulda listened to my Mom. *I wrote a similar review on their Facebook page and shockingly- I was blocked and my comment removed. My visit to Doma's was 5/14/25

My family & I picked up dinner. There is no menu to choose from unless you go to the store. We got a meatball hoagie, a porketta hoagie, & Italian wedding soup. Both hoagies needed to warmed up. The meatball hoagie sauce seemed over cooked as it was really dark. There was a fruity taste to the meatball hoagie, maybe balsamic vinegar. My son said the meatballs didn't taste good either. The porketta hoagie was bland. The Italian wedding soup was lukewarm with way too much oregano. The pasta was so overcooked that it was mush. There was little to no spinach. The Italian wedding soup we got did not look anything like the Italian wedding soup pictured on their Facebook page. Not a good experience!

Doma is a fantastic Italian corner store where you can find a wide selection of authentic Italian ingredients. They stock authentic Cento Marzano tomatoes which are impossible to find. I stumbled upon this spot when I was searching for Cavatelli pasta, and they kindly set aside a box for me when I called. I also picked up some fresh Italian sausage and cherry peppers. I’ll definitely be returning to Doma for my Italian culinary needs in the future.

I regretfully, will not be coming back to this store. It's sad when you have to deal with an employee who does not know the products he sells. This store was wonderful when Dominick owned it. Apparently the new owner does not have the same passion as he did because of her casual, passive attitude about being told of several instances where one of the employees had an attitude or didn't have a clue about different products that are of Italian origin which should be common knowledge working in a specialty store. I will start going to competitor stores where they care about customer relations and all employees are knowledgeable of the products the...
