China Gourmet — Restaurant in Dupont

This place seems to have gone really downhill. Work brings me and my husband to the area fairly often, and this is one of the few places that delivers up where we stay. Past two years, though, we've noticed a decline in quality... and I think tonight was the last straw.

Dumplings were this weird combination of hard yet soggily saturated with old, dirty oil. Beef teriyaki was like old shoe leather and the sticks were broken into multiple pieces inside the meat in three out of the four in the order and needed to be cut out before attempting to eat. There was more carrots in the beef and broccoli than there was broccoli, and the only flavor in the entire dish was 'old oil'. Overcooked, exploded rice. Egg rolls, one half was rock hard and the other was saturated in... again, old dirty oil.

The ONLY reason why, despite all that, I'm giving two stars is that they're still fast when it comes to delivery. The only time we've ever waited more than a half hour was because there was an accident at one end of the road, and the driver called to let us know he was caught up in...

I have been getting food here for a number of years and thought it time to tell others. I have ordered a fairly varied menu from them including appetizers and soup. It is all been very good for me. Their food tends to be on the spicy side but not very bad with it unless you order it spicy. The menu for Asian foods is one of the largest I have run into if you look online. I love that they are open late. With everything I have ordered I haven’t been disappointed with any of it. If you try them you will be back and if your an adventurous eater there is plenty to try from their online menu. I would give it a five star if their dining area was a bit more accommodating. After reading reviews , both negative and positive, i decided to place an order for myself and try the food. I placed my order 1914 hours (7:14 pm) and recieved my order through delivery at 1933 hours (7:33pm) delivery driver was pleasant, i ordered a chicken/broccoli combo with white rice, and a Chicken/mushrooms combo with pork fried rice. The quality of the food is fair, I would say slightly below that of most Chinese restaurants, the food was a little salty, but for delivery option , it is good. The food was decent. I ate it.
