Metro Deli — Restaurant in Dupont

I stopped in here about a month ago to use the bathroom in the truck stop and stumbled upon this deli. It was around lunch time and I said to myself “ahhh it’s a truck stop deli it can’t be that good”. But I decided to give it a try, the gentleman there by the name of Gilbert made me hands down the best cheesesteak I have ever had in my life. 10 out of 10. A lot of fast food places or even deli’s the employees always seem so miserable, but Gilbert is so passionate about what he does. I brought my pregnant wife back to try a cheesesteak that same day but unfortunately Gilbert was not there. I left a review here before but the staff is wonderful and sunshine. The food is consistently good. The first time I came here I was just starting my day to run through the night. I was ready to quit my job.

The gentleman talked me off the ledge with his POSITIVITY and statements about him loving his job. Still should’ve quit my job. But his demeanor and superior customer rapport building skills reminded me that I needed to get out of the daggon truck and touch some grass.

I'm not sure if I had a bad chef or not but I feel it's not worth it. The gentleman was nice enough but I did not get enough food for the money at all. Both of these came out to about 12.50 and I got mostly sauerkraut on my sandwich and I barely tasted the cheese. Also, the bottom of the sandwich was soggy, I guess the water from sauerkraut, hopefully someone can chime in and let me know if this is typical of this place as I've never been here.
