Three stars for poor service and a poorly mixed drink.
It was our first time coming coming here. It was on a Sunday around 4:30 PM. We ordered a Matcha milk tea and Aloha Mocha Snow Coffee. We ordered and signed on their iPad, but noticed that the worker didn't wipe the screen before touching it after us, and didn't clean his hands after we touched it. This was disappointing and weird since there are signs posted near the register that claim they wipe the iPad screen between use.
There were 4-5 people ahead of us and they got their drinks and left the building. Everyone did a good job socially distancing. It was just us two in the building and the workers were preparing drinks, or so we thought. We waited for 5 minutes or so until another couple came in after us and ordered their drinks. About 5 minutes later the worker called the drink names and put them down. We walked up assuming it was for us but they were for the couple after us. Weird.
Then we overhear one of the workers ask the other worker to make the Aloha Mocha Snow Coffee! The worker asks what goes into the Aloha Mocha Snow Coffee...They didn't even START making our drinks until the customers after us received theirs.
When they called our drinks 5 minutes later, we picked them up and they apologized for the wait. I appreciate that they acknowledged that we had waited long. We take our drinks into the car. The Aloha Mocha Snow Coffee was extremely good. However, the Matcha Milk Tea was not. There was floating green powder mix in the tea and we did not like drinking clumps of Matcha powder. I think they made that drink hastily...
I think that was an unlucky day but it was our first impression. We will go back because the Aloha Mocha Snow Coffee was good, but I won't order the Matcha...
Read moreTried bubble tea for the first time yesterday and loved it! We ordered on grubhub. I got the classic black milk tea with honey boba and rainbow jelly. I really appreciated how customizable the menu is - you can specify the sweetness level, amount of ice, and there are tons of tea, boba, and jelly flavors. We asked for 50% sweetness, which was quite sweet (I will probably try 25% next time not because it wasn't delicious but just to watch my sugar intake!). Since we had it delivered, it was great being able to specify no ice to make sure it wouldn't be watered down by the time it got to us. We just added ice at home and it was perfect.
Just a few suggestions/wishes - I kind of wish there was another plant-based milk option. I am a vegetarian not a vegan, so I can have the available dairy substitution, but I try to limit my dairy and would prefer to avoid drinking a ton of whole milk. I have no issue with soy except that I have hypothyroidism, and the absorption of the replacement hormone I have to take every day is inhibited by soy products - so I wouldn't drink this as often as I might otherwise just because I can't have it until mid-afternoon. Hypothyroidism is extremely common, veganism seems to be gaining in popularity, so I'm sure a second plant-based option would be beneficial. Second, would be nice to have some decaf options - I suspect some of the fruit ones might be herbal tea and caffeine free, but it doesn't say. Finally, might be helpful to specify what the "jellies" are made of and if they are vegetarian and/or vegan. I assumed they were made of agar agar, but the concern that they might be gelatin-based...
Read moreI was looking for a quick bubble tea fix and I was lured to this place by the great reviews. I really wanted to love this place but I wasn't to impressed with Cantaloupe and Honeydew Slush that we ordered; however, popcorn chicken is definitely a must try.
We walked in on 7/12 around 3PM, Staff was friendly and service was lacking and here is why -
I wasn't too impressed that they still served people (a family of 4) who weren't wearing any face mask despite signs plastered out front indicating that masks are mandatory upon entry (and no, they didn't order online for pick up as instructed)
It made me cringe as I watched, the cashier - punch in orders on the ipad turn it to the customer to sign to complete the transaction then proceed making drinks without gloves or even sanitizing between customers.
I honestly expected more especially during this pandemic, I probably won't be back because of what I...
