Silver Spoon Restaurant — Restaurant in Durham

Some colleagues and I stopped at this restaurant after completing some volunteer work at a nearby park. A rep from the park recommended this restaurant to us. We did not have reservations, nor did we need any reservations.

Our server, Suha, had exceptional customer service skills. She was professional at all times while very pleasant and friendly. We all adored her bubbly personality. She made us feel welcomed and as if we were at home.

They have a vast menu available. They serve breakfast all day, but they also have lunch and dinner items. There were so many items on the menu that it took us a minute to figure out what we wanted to try. There were also specials listed on a board.

Our orders were taken right away once we were ready, and our food came out quickly. Suha answered our questions regarding the menu and also made some recommendations per our inquiry.

We each ordered an entrée and dessert. My entrée was the seafood omelette with English muffin and home fries. It was very tasty and the omelette was flavorful with the cream cheese and shrimp on the inside and hollandaise sauce on the top. My hot fudge brownie was also really good. The presentation for both was nice.

The environment was relaxed and a bit homely. There are a lot of regulars that were dining at the same time that we were. This restaurant seems to be a staple in the community.

I am giving this restaurant 4 stars only because the restrooms could be brought a bit up-to-date. Additionally, in the female bathroom, there is one handicap stall and one regular stall. The regular stall is so small and cramped that it was not comfortable as there was no room to really turn around or do anything in there other than use the toilet. What made it worse was that there was nowhere to hang my pocketbook, so it was a very awkward situation.

Other than that, we had a wonderful dining experience, and we enjoyed the food. Those of us that live within the vicinity of the area will definitely...

Great food, HORRIBLE customer service. I spent over $30 on an order that turned out to be wrong. I ordered 2 french toast plates and received 2 waffle plates instead. I called and spoke with a lovely lady that said I could either get money back or it would be replaced the next morning, so I opted for picking up the correct order the next morning. Low and behold the only thing they planned to replace was the french toast. So I was supposed to just eat plain french toast? 🤔 when I spent to eat it paired with other breakfast items the day before. I called and was told rudely they would only replace the french toast, I then requested my money to be placed back on my card and the lady (the foreign one) over the phone said okay. I had to call my bank because the funds are still not on my card. I will NEVER return again and will...

Had lunch here... Wasn't impressed.... The server was in the middle of taking my order and her trainer made her stop in the middle of me giving her my order to take food to another table... That is not how things are done in any other establishment... I ordered the chicken sandwich melt and it taste like cinnamon, not cleaning the grill to well I noticed.... Not to mention that is not a chicken melt I had 3 tiny dots of mayo, I couldnt even tell there was any mayo on my sandwich.... My mothers meatloaf was dry and tasteless and we had to send her mac and cheese n.a. k be a because of the black pubic looking hair on top... Looked like they only scooped the top off and put a little bit of new mac n cheese on the top... We will not be returning.... I dont feel this place has ever seen how things should really be...
