On 9/7 I visited Top golf to celebrate my birthday. We when arrived the young lady at the desk asked how many people we had I informed 18. I asked her if there were bays that had sitting behind them for the guest that weren’t playing. She said they had seating like that on her right, my left of the building and she would speak with the manager. We had 2 bays reserved one in my name and one is my cousin name. She said it was an hour and a half to 2 hour wait and that we could go to the bars on any floor and wait and they would text us. We went to the second floor and ordered drinks and food we spent a lot of money while we were waiting. We were enjoying ourselves. Around 10 we got the text that our bays were ready on the 3rd floor. We starting heading up some stayed downstairs because they were still waiting for food and to close tabs because that’s what we were instructed to do. We go upstairs everyone is entering their information and we begin to play. I noticed a lady kept hovering behind our 2 bays. 2 people were standing behind the bay because were switching places. She comes over very RUDE and says You can’t stand behind the bays. They moved. We continue to play all 18 people were NEVER in the bay. We had to keep stepping out behind the bay because it’s a tight space. She was standing behind our bays with her hands crossed in front of her just watching us she says it again when she sees us moving around. So she walks off we continue to play and enjoy ourselves. The last 20 minutes she comes back and says your party has 18 people and it can only be 16 people in the bay because of a fire hazard she’s goes on very rudely and says the other 2 people can go to the common area or im going to ask you to leave. I say to her all 18 people are not up here they have been going back and forth to bar and we have to move around to play the space is very tight. I never been watched like that in my life. She had very nasty attitude never introduced herself or anything you left to go look up our bays to see how many people we had and the manger already knew that. I told her don’t worry about it we’ll leave she talking to another manager I don’t know what she said to him but he ended the game and said we have to get out we had food ordered they said we could’ve get it just leave we will refund you never asked for a card or anything so how are you refunding anything. Customer service here is horrible not one other manger came over and said hey what’s the problem how can we resolve the issue they telling us to leave and we were already leaving. I believe the manager name was Thomas that she was speaking with. She seemed like she had a problem with black people all these other bays in use but your standing here waiting for someone to stop behind the bay other people were moving around too. I saw a guy swinging his golf club like a Baton and kids running top speed bumping into you but you only had time dedicated to watch us. No one disrespected her the 2 times she said step in the bay we did it. I will never visit this establishment again. We still payed for our games but I want a refund on the memberships we payed for because the treatment here was crazy. I have video of us cheering each other on we weren’t loud or belligerent to be watched like that and the use of common area was crazy not one staff member said that they said waiting area or bar. I have been to drive shack plenty of times with large groups and never got treated like this. The food was good the atmosphere was fun as well but the staff needs better customer service training. I never experienced hidden racism like that because that’s what it...
Read moreI think your bar staff really need better training. I came with my sister last night. The entire bar was filthy and wasn’t bussed yet had two people behind the counter making drinks. We went to an area of the bar where there was an outlet to plug in my phone to charge. There were several cups and food plates that were not bussed. We were ignored for 20 minutes and the diningware was not picked up. I said “excuse me, could you tell me who I should order with?” to the bartender Ayiesha and she stated “I will get to you when I get to you” in a not so nice manner. For an additional 10 minutes my sister was seated while I stood waiting for the diningware to be cleared. Noting there was a handkerchief from other dirty dining ware on the bar from other patrons that had left, I picked it up and started to bus the area where I would be seated and placed them on a table behind me which was already dirty with more cups and food. Ayiesha saw this, stopped what she was doing to yell at me. The other servers in the bar area were rolling their eyes and commenting on it. There should be no reason that a bar stays filthy for up to 40 minutes. Who knows how long those cups and diningware had been there before we walked over from checking in. Ayiesha had an additional young man working behind the bar with her filling drink orders. Only once after I moved these items, did she tell him to clean that 1 table. The rest of the bar remained filthy. Just because you say “ma’am” to someone, doesn’t excuse your ill manneredness and make up for a lack of politeness. Ayiesha was patronizing and extremely dismissive in her tone and approach. I simply asked a question of who to order with and upon removing the items and also using that dirty handkerchief, cleaned off the table myself. There are 0 excuses for the approach from her and the side conversations from her peers. I get that being a bartender can be stressful. I did not go back and forth with her. Nor was I rude. I simply let her know that she could have let us know she would be with us shortly and that she would get to cleaning the area soon. I notified her that she did none of either of those things. There is a way to let people know that you are backed up, short-staffed, and having a rush without being disrespectful. I am a more than understanding and accommodating person. But, ignoring people for up to 45 minutes without saying anything, not offering water while its hot even inside the building, and not even cleaning the area they are seated in honestly is inexcusable. There is also no excuse for how filthy a TopGolf location should be. If I wanted a Bikers Bar, I would go there. While it was Saturday, this location was not as busy I can assume because of the heat. The staff at this location utterly needs new training and new management. Your leads for the Bays are great though. We had a great experience with a young lady helping us at Bay 220. However, first impressions really can make or break...
Read moreThis was a horrible experience and we won’t be back! My daughter turned 17 yesterday & she only wanted to come to Topgolf for 1 hour & celebrate. We get there at 6:30pm and are told it is between an hour to an hour and a half wait on a Thursday because apparently golf is half price, ok fine we get on the list I have the balloons, cake and gift as well and we are told sit over in the restaurant area. My husband & kids sit to the bar to order because we were told there is no waiter to take orders. So then at 7:20 I go back to guest services to let them know my husband has been waiting to order food 40 mins. She said have you been sitting to bar I pointed to my husband and my kids showed her yes they have been sitting there. Then a guy with a red shirt all of a sudden takes our order and she says you’re in good hands that’s the manager and she proceeds back to guest services laughing and playing with the others. At this point my daughter’s cake is melting I had to uncover it at the restaurant area because it was then 7:40pm and we still had not been given our food or taken to golf. I went back to guest services and said hey we will take any golf size station as I watched empty stations for at least 30 mins of our waiting time. Still nothing so at approximately 7:55pm we still had no appetizers or anything just the drinks we ordered. My kids are starving, my daughter who’s birthday it was is in tears all she wanted to do was golf a little. So we tell the guy with red shirt box food we are leaving, the brought empty boxes to the table we still had no food. He then apologized and took food off the bill and only charged us for 2 drinks. I walk the melting cake to the car while my husband handles the bill for drinks. You would think either guest services or the manager would have seen the tears in my daughters eyes and at this point my eyes as we are leaving again it’s now 8pm not only did we wait the time we were told we never got anything to eat in between that wait time. But nope they were very dismissive, I really think we were pre judged by the color of our skin or maybe the color of my wig. Not 1 white family got turned away in that time I was there. It’s really sad and upsetting. The as soon as we load up in the truck to leave at 8:01 it says you bay is ready. If that were the case why let us pack all the stuff up and leave. As if guest services people standing around playing in between customers didn’t see me walking back and forth taking things to the car. I mean no solution was offered, we would have paid for a suite or anything. Nothing was even offered I guess we look like people who couldn’t afford it. I work at duke & our management meeting is today I’m going to let them know top golf Durham shouldn’t be an option for us as an organization or our families. We can support Drive Shack Raleigh. Now I understand why this place has only 3 stars. Signed Jennifer G so you...
