Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in East Alton

I frequent this location both as a Dasher and a customer. Over this past summer, the lines were quick and the staff friendly, and a wait rarely took more than a few minutes. Now, getting someone at the speaker is a game of luck, and sometimes will go as long as five minutes before responding. Dashers and Mobile orders have a second lane in order to not hold up the line, which is actually really helpful. Unfortunately, 3/4 times I am in the line I have to flag the workers down, which they usually respond with, 'Oh, s**t, I forgot about your order'. After that you can expect a ten to twenty minute wait for soggy and cold food. I once ordered a shake that had half melted after I waited around half an hour, when clearly it had been made quite a bit beforehand. Tonight, I was assigned two Dashes from this location, and decided to place a mobile order for myself while I worked. A reasonable time passed and a girl hurried out with my order, then asked if I was also Doordash. She handed me my order while she got the Dashes. While I waited, I opened the bag to snack on my tots, and saw none of my sauces were included and I had not been given a straw. The girl came back with one order and I asked for my missing things. She went and retrived them and the second order. I spent over 15 minutes parked in the second lane before I had been able to leave. On my drive, I was incredibly annoyed to notice that napkins and a fork hadnt been included either, especially as I had ordered BBQ Chicken. Then to my utter suprise, my chicken was dry and naked, with the smallest possible amount of sauce, honestly less than a ketchup packet. If this wasn't all bad enough, the food turned around and made me so extensively sick that I had to stop my delivery job on a Friday night, killing any potential pay I could make. Food: received my order with wrong drinks 2 times in a row still no food and my "slushies" are more like flavored water one didnt even have ice. Not very refreshing when its 90 out. Service: if the staff is not able to hear over the speaker you are switched to a different staff member sometimes halfway through an order. I was still talking and trying to order, was told my total and when I tried to correct them it was obvious no one was listening so I sat from 2:00 when there was no other cars ordering (yes I tried contacting them again through the speaker and by pressing the button) to 2:24 when I received the first wrong order and the parking lot had started to fill. I then received my final order of 3 drinks around 2:36 I still did not have the food I ordered, they told me the drinks were free because of the wait which, heck yea but still no food I was not willing to wait any more time. Also a staff member had 2 headsets on and dropped an order twice in the 35 minutes I was there trying to exit the door, please slow down, one at a time considering there was only 3 others by the time I had my final 3 drinks. Atmosphere: The building is obviously lacking in maintenance and the speaker system needs work. Most metal siding on the building looks like it was painted 50 years ago when sonic was popular and left to rot. The windows going into the building have grease on them enough to see. I cant say anything for the inside as I did not go in or look into the kitchen but from the outside...

This place is the absolute worst place it don't matter what time of day or night , doesn't matter if you're the only car there or not you will wait at least 20 minutes to have them bring you something you didn't order . We waited 10 minutes at the speaker to place an order we was the only car there and we ordered a bag of ice , pulled around and waits another 15 minutes we could see them in there standing around talking and laughing. They came out and tried to give us 2 bags of food when we asked what it was they said it's your order. I said we ordered a bag of ice 20 minutes ago and asked if we could just what we ordered . Rather than just make the order right they want to argue like we messed up their order . Everytime we go here it's always a long wait and they always and I repeat always mess up and try to give us something we didn't order or they go car to car asking is thei yours and going through people's food because they dont know whats what or who ordered what . Theirs also no method here you can order something and then have two cars behind you get their order before you do . Worse service , workers and food for all the restaurants in this immediate area . Save yourself time and the hassle of having to argue to get what you simply ask for and avoid...
