A great Italian restaurant on the Lewisburg Highway! I came here with my girlfriend since we were in the mood for Italian. We came here on a Saturday with no reservation. We waited about 5 minutes for the indoor seating (They said the outdoor seating was a long wait). It looked like the restaurant was taking the COVID-19 precautions. The indoor tables were spaced out, and all the staff was wearing masks.
We were quickly greeted bread, which was a few pieces of soft bread and also some delicious bruschetta. To be honest, I was surprised since I haven't had free bruschetta from a restaurant in a while. My only experience was with higher-end Italian restaurants. Anway the bruschetta was amazing! Truly so good! I don't actually like tomatoes, but the way that the made it was so amazing. And the bread was also great. The sesame seed on the top was a great change.
I ordered the Vitello Rossini (Veal) and my girlfriend ordered the shrimp fettuccini. To start I chose the Crab and corn soup to go with my entree. and my GF got the Italian salad. Both os these came out about 5 minutes after placing the order. The crab soup was SO good! It is up there on some of the best soup I've ever tasted. It was so good my GF had to take the rest lol. But, unfortunately, she said the salad was not good. She had pieces of lettuce where it tasted good then somewhere it didn't. She also said that the Italian dressing didn't taste like Italian dressing. But maybe out waitress messed that up since it looked like just olive oil.
Onto the entrees, my pasta tasted super good, and the sauce was amazing. To be honest, I was pretty much full after all of the bread we ate. But, this pasta's taste forced me to keep going. It had so much flavor, and the sauce was a perfect thickness. It was a perfect dish that is underpriced. My GF's shrimp fettuccini was also great, according to her. She couldn't finish all of it, so she took some of it home as leftovers. I also want to add that out food took a little over 30 minutes to come out. But, I noticed that they had A LOT of take out orders and that the seating was full.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this meal! We think that this might be our new go-to. If you're in the area, you need to come to check it out. We live about 40 minutes away, and I think that it's 100% worth the wait. Lewisburg has some great restaurants and this place definitely in...
Read moreIf you're looking for an okay Italian meal with a casual, family style dining experience and a huge menu, this is a solid pick. If you're looking for a great quality Italian meal with fresh ingredients and a great atmosphere, try Isabella's in Selinsgrove for around the same price.
The food was just alright. LOTS of options, but I found that my $30+ chicken dish (pictured in review) was really lackluster and the vegetables were not fresh or very overcooked. The potato soup was broken/very gritty.
The bread and tomato sauce were both tasty!
The service was great! Excellent staff who answered questions about the menu and gave good recommendations.
It's quite noisy if there's an event going on on the venue side, which may affect your dining experience. They tried their best and stated us as far as possible, but we could feel the bass and had to talk over loud muffled music.
As an alternative recommendation: We see just about the same prices, but significantly greater quality food, drink, and atmosphere, I highly recommend trying out Isabella's in Selinsgrove. In fact, we ended up going there a week later and despite ordering similar items, we paid less for our meal that was...
Read moreFood was great! Service not so great.
Our waitress seemed rather surly and had trouble answering basic questions about the food. Also, she took away my plate while it still had food on it (as well as my silverware) while I was in the restroom, without asking my family if I was done. I had eaten about 2/3 of it at that point. According to them, she just swooped in and grabbed it, without a word.
I also heard later from family members that she had reached across them more than once to pick up plates while they were trying to eat instead of going around. It sounds like she was not properly trained before she started working there, since how and when to take away food is one of the first things you learn when you start waiting tables. I hope management takes notice of this review and acts accordingly, for the sake of both the restaurant and the waitress in question.
As I said above, the food was quite good. Or rather, the food I had a chance...
