If you have allergies or food sensitivities…DO NOT DINE HERE!!!!! ZERO REGARD FOR ALLERGY SAFETY!!!!!! My teenage son has a food allergy and asked the person at the counter if the wings were safe. She informed him that they “SHOULD” be safe…without bothering to look or speak with anyone. He asked if she could please check the ingredients, and she simply reiterated that they wings SHOULD be safe for him…mumbling something about butter in some of the sauces…but not to worry because they SHOULD be ok!!!!! Their lack of allergy awareness is disgusting!!!!
Obviously, he didn’t feel comfortable dining so just had a drink and a few fries while his friend had dinner.
I would give zero stars if I could! Absolutely awful experience!
Also to note…we previously had a vegan pizza here….and my son had a reaction due to cross contamination. We avoid Patelmos for this reason, but his friend wanted to go and he didn’t want to be excluded…but the staff made sure he was completely excluded.
**I am all for supporting small/family businesses…but the treatment my son received today was absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable! It would have been easy enough to read the ingredients on the box and give him a clear, definitive answer! Please take the time to educate yourselves and the staff on appropriate ways to handle allergies. “Should” is never an acceptable reply.
Edit to add after Patelmos reply - Throwing poor Dora under the bus…no wonder she is upset. As her boss, you should have trained her what words to use to ensure proper communication to customers regarding allergies. My son said Dora’s accent wasn’t the issue. If you’re concerned about her accent or word usage, YOU should have spoken with my son. And I should not have to be present when my 15 year old son goes out!!!! That’s just absurd to say I should have been. I clearly taught him how to properly r advocate for himself pertaining to his allergy. My son wasn’t the problem here. My not being with my 15 year old son while he was out with a friend wasn’t the problem!! Your restaurant was! Reading your comments to other reviewers, it’s very clear that you blame the review writer for the issues in your restaurant…such as commenting that I should have been there….such childishness. Take your reviews and make changes…don’t blame people for simply being honest.
As I mentioned in separate messaging to you - it is YOUR job to properly train your employees. Dora wasn’t the issue. Your training or lack...
Read morePATELMO'S STINKS! AWFUL, HORRIBLE, INFESTED, DISGUSTING, DIRTY & GROSS! DON'T WASTE your time or your MONEY! If I could have given them zero stars, or even negative stars, I would have, but you must leave one star at minimum! 😪 If you ask ANYONE that is a "current" resident of West Chester, PA, & that was "born & raised" in West Chester, PA they will tell you NOT to GO HERE, EVER!!!!! It has an awful reputation mainly because of the horrible management, disrespecrful employees, & the jerks that own it- Tom & his wife are NOT professional in anyway whatsoever! The food there isn't good at all, they aren't "Italian" & they leave pizza sitting on the counter all day long with meat on it! A neighbor of mine got food poisoning from eating a slice of sausage pizza from there a couple months back, she was so sick, she ended up going to the Emergency Room! In addition to this, I personally know a cook on the line, & he said that it's INFESTED with cockroaches, & even a few mice! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE in the area! If you want true authentic "Italian food" specifically located in West Chester, PA go to Fiorello Cafe, Enzo's Italian Eatery, Limoncello, or Mercato's! However, Anthony's Pizza & Italian Restaurant in Malvern, PA & Pomod'oro Pizza and Italian Restaurant in Dowingtown, PA are the BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANTS in Chester...
Read moreForgettable food, we had a cheese steak (beef, supposedly ribeye, LOL) and a chicken cheese steak.
Both steaks had pretty crappy rolls. My "ribeye" cheese steak tasted only of the onions and mushrooms I ordered. If they used ribeye, they need to check their supplier, because that was bottom barrel.
The chicken cheese steak had almost no cheese and very plain taste.
Both needed some salt on them because the cheese was so little, it didn't supply enough.
About the service: We ordered "to go" food. The staff behind the counter was very nice, let us know it would be about 15min, all good.
Then, the husband of the owner came out to chat with us, and went into politics immediately. I do not appreciate that at all; no matter your politics, if you run a "restaurant" you do not walk up to people and talk your politics. I just went "uhuhh" and "yeah" to get away from him.
The one compliment I can make is to the rest of the staff, as well as the place itself, it looked very clean, and didn't smell bad.
The sandwiches were cooked OK, just all the meat lacked taste on both chicken and "ribeye".
I...
