Tavern On The Hill — Restaurant in East Haddam

Would not recommend at all we came in with big group of people did not even eat my food we was the first ones to put are food in the last one to are food evey order was wrong so when the kitchen was not back up half of the room got are checks, we waited 1 n half hours for 3 small pieces of potato, they gave me my wrong food. They gave me wrong food then I take an hour and a half appetizer. Poor staff never been here never would come back poor kitchen would not recommend this place at all would never recommend anybody coming here , someone at my table said the water was good that was about it Even though she was supposed to get cold this is Coke and they said they were gonna bring back. First time here, stopped by with my daughter for lunch. I ordered the half rack of St. Louis style ribs which were so good and the meat just fell off the bone. Sides were mac n cheese (good but could use a bit more sharp cheese) and hot deviled egg (very good). Daughter had the Smoked Chicken which she said was excellent along with the backed beans and garlic mashed potatoes. Our server who said she was new there , made a few good drinks for us and did a great job both handling the bar and the seating section on the right by herself and in a timely , friendly fashion. Came in on a Saturday at 7pm. Waitress was great . No customers in the restaurant. It was awkwardly quiet with no music or tv sound the whole time, till you could hear people in the kitchen yelling. Appetizer(nachos) were decent. Entrees were a miss. Brisket was dry, deviled eggs had good flavor but can tell they pre make them long before because the egg was tough.
