First birthday celebration went wrong. I have booked party hall on sep 12 for My kid's first birthday on sep 24. They made our first birthday party as bad by giving dining room instead of party hall using their poor room reservation logic on last minute. They have showed us a good party hall with ample lights, enough space & decoration wall during reservation So we booked but they have changed the party hall on function day. they have showed a small room at 3 PM which didn't had proper lighting. Switches weren't worked. Then they showed dining hall. What to do in last minute. I said ok :( We are not able to take good photos. Took photos in less light since its a dining hall. Room is small so photos are showing the dust bin :( Not able to decorate well. Walls are not good. We planned and bought things for booked room. But they collapsed everything and saying we gave that hall for bigger party. None of american restaurant change party hall in last minute. they have admitted your mistake as many staff handled this reservation but we affected at last. Everyone asked why you agreed for dining hall instead of party hall. I agreed since don't want to start function with fight. They did another mistake, they filled spoons, glasses in all tables. Less space also. Everyone didn't have place to sit properly. Poor sitting arrangement. How functions will start normally? Everyone will sit, speak with friends once function got over then they will go for dinner. so people didn't sit properly. Everyone felt discomfort. Kids not able to play well due to lack of space. Helium balloon decoration went wrong due less height. They didn't kept enough plates, used plate collection box.

I should have cancelled the order immediately. but they are taking this advantage since people will accept in last minute. I know we paid for food only but we are upset and unhappy about their hospitality. Handling people and words are...

If you are looking for a good Indian restaurant, this is not the one to visit. I would give Godavari a 0 if I could. Please take the advice from someone who has been here 4 times and received the same service. The first time we ordered food and we had to wait an hour until we were served and even then everyone's order came out in 15 minute increments. We ordered a dish and it never came so we asked only to be told that the kitchen ran out of that particular meat a couple hours ago. This would have been nice to know before we ordered the dish. The second time we went they kept mixing up the orders with other tables. The third time I went we were given glasses of water but when I asked for more it never showed up. I had to walk to the front desk and ask for a pitcher of water to bring back to the table myself. The fourth time it was my cousin's 1st birthday party at the banquet hall. There were a lot of guests but a majority of them had to go home hungry. Luckily there was a McDonald's right across the street. The trays of food were being brought in one at a time and very slowly. They also stated that if the food was not out before 10PM there was nothing they could do because they close the kitchen at 10PM. We ran out of food at the party because catering staff was too slow. When I say staff I only mean the one worker who was walking back and forth brining out trays of food one by one. Catering a party is not a one person job. The party was a disaster due to the lack of professionalism by Godavari's staff. The little food that was eaten by guests was lacking as well. If you want to eat real, authentic, delicious Indian food I would recommend Utsav Indian Cuisine in Vernon, or Wethersfield. It may be a drive to get there but they have great portion size, friendly and accommodating staff, and amazing food. The disappointing treatment and food will have me never going back. We had our Baby shower event last year, we went to their place and ordered all the food we needed for the party much prior to the event. We checked on them a day before whether they were all set for the order as we had heard about their prior order blunders from known contacts. On the day of the event they totally missed out both paneer and chicken biryani at our party buffet and there was no Rice item at all on the buffet! We let go that time thinking it was a one off mistake and as the rest of the dishes were good at the time. Now after a year had my son’s first birthday at the same venue on a day before but this time they messed up the proportions of the orders. We ordered medium deep tray noodles instead they served small tray saying it was medium large and then when we asked to prepare more noodles they said they were out of it. We had ordered a large deep tray of biryani and they served a small tray saying it’s medium large. So we added two more dishes to make sure people had enough food and we ended up paying for a lot of food because of their poor service and negligence. For desert we ordered medium tray double ka meetha and it dint taste anything like it and they served a large tray of it so it was a total waste. It was just regular Toast Rusk half soaked in sugar syrup. Also after requesting them multiple times to adjust the temperature of the event room they kept saying they were trying to lower room temp but they dint do anything and it was hot throughout the event. People were sweating and that too at night time. Zero importance to Banquet customers during their peak hours and no one to look after. Everything needed followups. Wouldn’t recommend...
