On a whim, a friend & I decided to do take out from Pabs. I was warned the food takes long but it's good. I didn't mind as long as the food was hot & not sitting around waiting for it to be scooped out of a hot plate. Upon arriving, it didn't look like much from the outside & when going in, that remained. A few booths, & a couple of tables (chairs up). There wasn't an official menu, just a small white board with some of the choices rubbed off due to handling. I made my picks, goat soup, fried rice with chicken. My companion selected jollof with chicken. While they prepared the food, that took around 20mins, we sat at one of the large booths. I was excited to try a new cuisine so I dug right in, forgetting to take pictures. The portions are substantial! My fried light yellow rice was moist, flavorful & was seasoned well with herbs. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. It had a faint spice to it, just right. They gave me a hearty leg & two small breasts, & a small side of salad. I would have liked the salad to be separate so it didn't get warm in the foam container, but that didn't stop me from eating it. The goat soup was absolutely amazing. I tasted the broth first & couldn't stop! I could drink it all day. It had a little kick to it as well, nothing over bearing. The goat was so tender & they weren't stingy with the meat. Using utensils to get the meat off the bone is pointless. You have to use those tools God gave you (hands) & just get in there. This soup gave my body comfort, warmth & the itis. The amount in the plastic bowl is so much, I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I went back for more later in the night. I tasted my friend's jollof & that too was cooked to perfection. Although, he said it was ok. I think he's a little biased because his mother also cooks jollof. He ate plenty of it, so it received the seal of approval. This restaurant is going in the rotation, when I'm in the area. Even though there was a wait, it's worth it to have hot & delicious food. Nothing was luke warm or room temperature. I love when...
Read moreOkay so I didn't even get my food as yet (ordered through door dash) and I'm already impressed with their service. For some reason deal dash only has a selected menu than what they offer and doesn't have any of the soups listed. To make a long story short, I was impressed with their professionalism and willingness to adjust my order so I could get exactly what I wanted. I am Jamaican, I am obsessed with the African culture, from clothing, to language and even food. I have done research and found out over 70% of jamaicans are from Ghana so I know it's something that's innate. Anyways, I digressed. Give them a try! I never knew this place existed and i have no doubt the food will be just as amazing as their service. I will be sure to edit or add another comment about the food....
Read moreTraveled quit a distance for this restaurant only to be disappointed. The photo must be from when they first opened up because it makes the restaurant look clean and has some atmosphere. Now it looks run down and not so clean it reminded me of a cafeteria a take out place not a true restaurant. When we came in there was a guy on the phone laughing so i assume it was personal. When he finally got off he went to the back never making any eye contact so we got up and left, mind you we were the only people in the place. I guess they cater to a certain clientele. People who dont mind being ignored. You should make the place look like the photos, and hire back all the so called great service people.False...
