Triple-A Diner Restaurant — Restaurant in East Hartford

I've never had a worse experience in my entire life at any restaurant ever I literally just left the place after having a 20-minute argument with the chef my waiter and the owner who insisted that I ate half of a burrito where only two bites had been taken out of it the green peppers inside the burrito or at least an inch and a half long and thick I asked them to remake it and my waiter told me he would take it to the back and the cook would take the onions and the peppers out of a burrito I explained that if I was going to pay for it they would have to remake it for me he refused when I went to go pay for it it was on my bill still and that is where the argument started where the owner insisted that I pay for the burrito and then when I explained to him I had eaten the burrito he told me he would charge me for half a burrito now mind you I had already eaten my chili cheese fries which I had ordered and they were delicious but because of the attitude the tone of voice and the disrespect I will never eat there ever again then I was told that I would have to pay for half the burrito I explained to him I didn't eat half a burrito and a couple of bites realize they were giant slabs of green pepper and long stringy pieces of onion in it and I was not going to eat it and I was not going to pay for it and the chef came out of the and asked me where the giant slabs of pepper where I grabbed only a few of them about 3 and put them in my hand showed them one by one to him they covered even one of them covered at least a third of my palm and he said they were not Giant I said I wasn't going to pay for it that's when they got extremely rude I told him to call the police I told them to call whoever they wanted to and ask to speak to the owner or the manager and was informed that the man who was insisting that I pay for the whole thing and then the half of it and then a third of it was the owner it was a terrible experience my stomach is still burning from the aggravation and the stress of it all I never experienced anything of this caliber in my entire life if you value your own customer service and you value the customers right to choose what they will and will not eat I suggest never eating there sadly the only other time that I ate there I had a wonderful experience a nice lady took my order was very helpful I gave her a giant tip this time though soured my entire experience and I will never and I do mean never ever eat there again and I wish you could give...

This wasn’t just a bad experience — it felt like I accidentally walked onto the set of a low-budget horror film.

My girlfriend and I came in late, expecting a basic meal from a 24-hour restaurant. What we got instead felt like something out of a nightmare. The place was nearly empty, eerily quiet, and the energy was… off. Not just bad service — suspiciously off. Like we weren’t supposed to be there.

We tried ordering food, but nothing was available. My girlfriend had to change her order five separate times before we gave up and just asked, “Is the kitchen even operating?” It genuinely felt like they were using the kitchen for something other than food. The vibe was that unsettling. At one point we even joked, “Are we about to be abducted?” But the longer we stayed, the less it felt like a joke.

Our waitress was clearly not well — glassy eyes, completely zoned out, mumbling responses, and moving in slow, robotic ways. It was like serving tables was the least of her concerns. I don’t know what she was on, but no sober staff should ever behave like that. I felt genuinely uncomfortable being in the building.

Then came the “steak” — and I use that word lightly. What I was served was a grey, rubbery chunk of meat that looked like it had been cooked in a microwave powered by regret. It had an off smell, a sickly color, and a texture I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I took two bites and stopped — I’ve never had a steak make me feel like I was about to get food poisoning on the spot.

The “spaghetti” was no better. Tasting like it came out of a chef boy ardee can. They just do not care to serve edible food.

There’s a difference between a bad diner and a place that feels like it’s being run out of a front. This was the latter. No food available. No competent staff. No safe feeling.

I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes here — but it’s not just bad business. It’s deeply concerning. Do not go here. Especially not at night.

Came in with my family and my little sister asked about the discount for goodwin students. There was a sticker plastered to the door that said to ask about the discount as it is supposed to be a goodwin foodsite. We ask and all the employees seem confused as hell as to what we were talking about. They all looked at eachother confused and they barely even understood english. The dishes were dirty and the water had stuff floating in it. There was a very unpleasant smell of mildew in the restaurant and as we seated down the seats seemed extremely beat up. We were already completely disgusted and ready to go but as we were getting up the staff ushered us to sit down and order and were breathing down our necks to stay. It was late at night and every other option was closed, so reluctantly we agreed to stay. We ordered a small family platter as the smell really killed our appetite for anything big. We waited 20 mins for the food to come out and when it did it looked disgusting. The food was stale and way too crunchy and the sauces we were provided tasted absolutely rancid. I tried using the ketchup bottle and it was red water no matter how much I shook it. To top it all off when we went to pay the total was 12.99 on the menu, when i took a look at the receipt the cashier attempted to hide from me after she handed me back a 5 when i gave her a 20 i realized they charge a 20% dining fee. No where in the restaurant does it say that this happens and i suspect they disguised it as a tip which i most definitely would not have given because the service was more rancid than the nasty food.
