Totally disappointed and waste of money !!
ordered a mix of chicken, and the quality was very disappointing. Out of 5 pieces, only 1 was fresh, juicy, and tasted good. The other 4 pieces were completely different—hard, rubbery, extremely oily, and tasted like they had been fried 2–3 times. They did not seem fresh at all, almost like they were from the previous day and just reheated.
The leg pieces especially were so oily that they clearly had absorbed too much oil from being refried. On top of that, the chicken was overly salty and difficult to eat. Honestly, I couldn’t even finish 2 pieces and ended up taking the rest home, but I still couldn’t eat them.
It feels like they only add 1–2 fresh pieces in each order to make it look good, while the majority of the chicken is old and reheated. This is very disappointing and feels like a waste of money. The only positive part of my order was the fries—they were fresh and tasty.
I have ordered from NYC Chicken & Grill many times for home delivery, and they always play the same game with their customers. Out of a mix order, only 1–2 pieces are fresh, juicy, and good, while the rest are oily, rubbery, and taste like they’ve been reheated and fried 2–3 times
Overall, the quality and consistency are unacceptable. If this is how they serve food regularly, then customers are not getting what...
Read moreThe many positive reviews on Google and Yelp are correct. This storefront in a small strip of businesses might not look like much—plastered with brightly colored, probably stock images of the wide variety of dishes available, and possessing decidedly utilitarian tables (4) and chairs, this is decidedly more of a take-out than dine-in sort of establishment. My husband and I both opted for the combination plate with both lamb and chicken. ($12.95, includes a salad of iceberg lettuce and tomatoes to the side of the rice and meat and a can of soda; there is a surcharge for credit cards.) The ingredients were fresh and well-cooked (no dried-out chicken here); the salad was still crispy despite being in the same container as the entree. Lamb was the nicely spiced stuff found in gyros; chicken had been marinated in a faintly sweet savory sauce, almost like teriyaki. The long-grained rice was fluffy, and brown in color, similar to the fried rice one gets at same Chinese restaurants (soy sauce?—though it wasn’t salty). We asked for, and received, a generous topping of the white yogurt-based sauce. The white sauce had bits of minced herbs in it, which is different from what I’ve seen elsewhere, but very tasty. Portions were ample—I didn’t finish my rice, but my husband ate all of his.
If we lived in the area, we would definitely...
Read moreGot a 3 piece fried chicken platter that came with rice (or fries), biscuit, a small salad and a 12oz can of soda. It was well cooked everything tasted great. The chicken was perfectly cooked and tasted great, they included hot sauce packets which I appreciated! The biscuit was soft and buttery and had just the right level of moisture and so tasted perfect as is (it didn't need any added butter for flavor or moisture) the salad was a perfect balance to the fried chicken and really rounded out the meal and was a welcome addition. The rice was perfect flavor and texture was on point, it's great as is but I got the white sauce on top the rice as well as the salad and it really kicks it up! The atmosphere was as you'd expect for a small fried chicken place, I enjoyed eating there and the people working there were very friendly and I plan to go there again next time I am...
