I have to say I was happy when they replaced the "Save-a-lot " with "Key foods". But to my surprise I my feeling changed real fast once I was watched whe. I shopped in this store. IT wasn't until I said something this behavior stopped. I believe everyone deserves another chance. I have no proof but this store definitely gives the vibes of watching when you put your pin number on the key pad. The cashier at the time I was about to purchase my items was so nice at the beginning. But when I went to put my pin in she went & turned the payment machine a certain way. I said something because I thought that was weird & unessaray for her to do. Then what happens before all my foodstamps where stolen from my card. NOT SAYING THIS KEYS FOOD IS RESONSIBLE BUT IT SURE LOOKS & SMELLS LIKE FRAUD ATTIVITY. Not to mention where I live several ppl have said there ebt has been stolen & shop at this location..... This serves to those if you shop here be careful watch what's going on around you. LAST BUT NOT LEASE I KNOW A GOD THAT SITS HIGH & LOOKS LOW . NOTHING IS EVER DONE IN SECRET. HAVE A...
Read moreThis new (2022) supermarket has tons of Latino products that might be difficult to find elsewhere in East Hartford except perhaps with its direct competitor C-Town about 1.3 miles south on main or across the river in Hartford. They carry a very wide selection of Goya brand foods. However, Keyfoods prices may be a bit higher. The store is modern with what seems to be more inventory than C-Town. It's very clean & organized. Easy to navigate inside the store. C-Town is very tightly packed. But C-Town does have hot and ready Latin food. The meat section at Key is unusually large so I expect many more cuts of meats offered. They renovated the space from the old Save-A-Lot that closed down during the pandemic. With Stop & Shops closing earlier this year, this store may help fill the void left by S&S. Alternatives are ShopRite by the East Hartford/Glastonbury border, Aldi Supermarket on Silver Lane, ShopRite in Manchester and of course C-Town across the street from the Coca-Cola bottling...
Read moreCard scammer alert - Do not use a debit card!! Until today - I've shopped here, often multiple times a week. I get to the register -Same woman I've seen for years- Go to type my pin -invalid pin ... Hmm maybe I typed it wrong .. Retry same ... Once more ... Nope wrong pin - Well that's weird same debit card I've always used - Go to the CVS down the way to see if it works there - It does. As I'm walking out the door a representative from my banking institution calls me - Now I'm cautious and opt to call them back. The representative then tells me that my pin was flagged as trying to be duplicated - So each number I was pressing was counting as double.
Unfortunately now I have no bank card till probably Monday - But may have saved me 100's of dollars ... Sadly it very much pains me that I can no longer...
