This is a small neighborhood restaurant had an appointment in an area I don't travel often and was looking for some authentic pescado frito (whole fried fish) I goggle, look at a few reviews and I arrived. It was lunchtime, so I wasn't sure how crowded it would be. There were a few people there but not too many. I was seated immediately. I ordered exactly what I searched for. Pescado frito and a mango margarita. My pescado frito came with a side aalad and rice and fried potatoes. I wanted beans, but I think my learning how to speak beginning Spanish ordered the fried potatoes. I was low-key embarrassed to take the potatoes back for the beans since I tried to be fancy and speak Spanish. Nevertheless I like the food and the margarita was frozen and didn't taste much tequila. Now, I did noticed nats flying around my table area and I was like was WTH!!! I didn't like that at ALL!!!! Yall need to fix that. I had to write this review to add that because that was a turn off. Again address the flying nat problem no one should have to eat inside a resturant with...
Read moreFor a little family restaurant I was surprised that even celebrating my Wife's birthday they still were able to push some tables together to accommodate our whole party plus the staff was very nice and the food was excellent but on a lighter note it would be better to stick to drinking beer if that's your thing because the selection of tequila there is like maybe 2 different kinds that really taste watered down even though I personally watched them open the case of the tequila in front of me and the bottle which is a product of Mexico I've just never heard of it and to my surprise my wife had a shot of tequila and didn't even clench and we have been together for 8 years and I've never seen her drink any alcohol so if that helps you to understand the quality of their brand of tequila I don't know what would lol stick to beer lol. Overall it was one of the best family get togethers we've had and a few years since the pandemic. Peace and blessings don't drink and drive but have a blast and enjoy the great food and keep feeding the...
Read moreThis little place is in East Los Angeles. It is in the heart of East LA where a lot of the really good Mexican food is located.
This was our first time going. We have decided to take a tour near home so we picked East LA. We are so happy we did.
While we were there we saw cooks preparing a catering menu and wow did it look great. I will use them someday.
The place is adorable and has a jukebox. It is super clean. The service is very good and very friendly. They speak English and Spanish which is great. They know the menu and can tell you what is spicy and how to make it less spicy if needed.
We started with oysters and they were nicely chilled and so fresh. We ordered a seond round they were so good.
We also had a couple of combination plates with the best rice and beans, tacos and enchiladas. We had a great shrimp cocktail with wonderful seafood at the bottom.
There was not one thing we did not enjoy. We all shared and ate so much. I thought I would need a nap. It was just...
