UPDATE: My husband and I went to First Watch again for the third time today. I tell you the waitresses are great. Twice Ms. Jade was our server, and today we were served by Ms.Nate`, she was energetic and positive and made me aware of the Carnitas burrito, (which unfortunately, they won't be preparing much longer). It was fantastic. It wasn't on the menu, but there were pictures of it on the door. Delish!! Again, the employees seem so happy, it is a pleasure to eat here. Ms. Jade was at the register, so we still were able to see her. My point in this review is that all the good things about this restaurant are consistent. With that, I'd like to upgrade my review to 5 stars. Thank you to First Watch and their wonderful staff. We really enjoy eating there. If you want a good healthy meal, great service, great servers, please try this place. :-)
My husband and I went to First Watch, for the first time, yesterday for breakfast. I ordered the avocado toast and a side of grits with butter and cheese. My husband ordered an omelette which had lots of meats and veggies in it. The food was wonderful! What made it extra nice was our waitress/server Jade. She came over to our table bright and cheery and happy to be there. She explained the menu to us and answered our questions. I assume being a waitress/server is a difficult job, but the servers here seem to be happy workers. I noticed the same attitude on other servers that worked at tables nearby. When paying at the cashier, I asked how/why the workers seemed so happy. This lady told me that she was there from the beginning, (2 years). She said 'we're all pretty happy here, and it was a very nice place to work'. I really enjoyed our breakfast, the decor, the atmosphere and Jade wonderful attitude, just pushed it over the top. Great job First Watch and Thank You for a really...
Read moreI normally don’t leave reviews, but our experience here was so unprofessional and uncomfortable that I felt it needed to be shared.
We came in as a group, including two young children under 3. Our server was rude from the start—she was off to the side eating while we waited a long time for our food. When we asked for anything, especially for the kids (like utensils, napkins, or basic help), she made it feel like we were bothering her. When I asked for coffee, she completely forgot and instead brought us the check. Her body language and facial expressions showed clear annoyance throughout.
Due to the poor service, I made the decision not to leave a tip—something I believe should reflect good service, not be treated as mandatory. But then, as we stood outside near our car, two servers actually followed us out to confront us. One of them, who said her name was “Aly” (not sure if that’s even accurate), told us, “We’re here to make money,” and questioned why we didn’t tip. It felt aggressive and incredibly inappropriate.
When I calmly asked to speak to the manager, I was told she was too busy and unavailable. That, combined with the fact that they refused to give me the name of our server, showed a serious lack of professionalism and accountability.
This kind of behavior—especially confronting customers outside the restaurant over a tip—is completely unacceptable and should never happen under any circumstances. It’s the responsibility of the management to train staff in basic customer service and enforce a respectful standard of behavior. I hope the management takes this seriously, because no guest should be made to feel harassed or unwelcome. Until that changes, I won’t be returning and would not recommend this...
Read moreTerrible experience today and this will be my last time coming to this crusty establishment. Hostess with blonde hair was very rude, snobby, and arrogant. I asked for a booth and she completely ignored my request. I reiterated that I had requested a booth, and she replied with “let me check my reservations”… which in fact they don’t take reservations. And they had two booths opened and cleaned, waiting to be seated. Wasting my time. My family ordered juices today with no ice, and they proceeded to give us small glasses (for children) and cheaped us out of a full beverage. THEN they put our waters in the same small glasses just to deceive us. Everyone else in the restaurant had tall glasses for their waters???? Who are you trying to fool?! Our server was very nice- she deserves all the beauty in this world that it has to offer. The cook was very nice when she came out and explained that the oatmeal was on a 20 min delay and comped it from our tab. LASTLY!! And this is IMPORTANT!! My family and I had split the bill per person by the seat number they had assigned us. The total bill was $56.09. My first family members bill (separately) came out to $19.08. She paid with card, and the suggested tip option wasn’t for $19.08, IT WAS FOR THE TOTAL BILL!! So deceiving and sneaky!!! Please be careful if you are splitting the bill by person, they will sneak you into paying 20% for the entire bill, and not just your meal. You are better off going to camp hill cafe...
