Simply Turkey & More — Restaurant in East Pennsboro Township

To start I have to say that I love Simply Turkey. It has always exceeded my expectations for salads in particular. They can be pricey, however, I always thought their salads were worth every penny given the many topping options, freshness, and volume of what they give you. Especially since the most common alternative pizza place salads you can get seem to be 80% iceburg lettuce for the same price if not higher so I avoid them all together if I want a good salad. I frequently recommend Simply Turkey as the best place for a take out salad to everyone. Sadly today, for the first time ever (i've been eating at Simply for YEARS), I was very disappointed with my take out order. My large salad had less than a small salad usually does. A small salad can usually be divided into 2 meals. A large, 3 easy. To top it off I ordered a Boss salad with roasted turkey and I paid extra to add chicken as well. When I looked at the salad once in my car there was maybe 2 or 3 oz of chicken on top but I saw no turkey. I went back inside to ask if there was even turkey in it and I was told "it's in the middle". When I got home and looked closer at the salad there was perhaps an 1/8th cup of turkey. About 2 bites. Guess im lucky I ordered extra protein so there would be some on it. Pretty sad for a $19 salad. I can't say I won't be back. Maybe it was employee error and she needs to be re-educated on creating a salad that meets your normal standards. I truly hope that's the case and you aren't scaling back because people that are used to what you normally provide won't be happy to spend that kind of money on a salad like that. The food is usually good, as long as you don't have an allergy and they get your order right. We order from Simply Turkey every couple weeks for a three-person office and I think it's been a year since they got everyone's order correct- items left off of salads, items you didn't request, wrong bread, etc. I have a gluten allergy and the last two times I've gotten sick after eating there, and today they added croutons to a make-your-own salad I didn't ask for and of course cannot eat. They refused to deliver a replacement, saying I would have to leave work to pick it up or they would have to issue a refund. When I asked if they changed the gluten-free bread since I've gotten sick even after mentioning my allergy, they just said they're busy prepping for Thanksgiving and "there's stuffing flying everywhere so my food probably got contaminated". Service was sub par, nothing special. This was my first and last time. I thought I could order a sand which and they would make it for me like a good sandwich shop would...... nope just a glorified subway, when I ordered from the menu they asked me what I wanted???? I asked for your club sandwich, go make it how you make it, that's why I came in the door- if I wanted to make my own sandwich I would have stayed at home and saved A LOT of money, horrible cookie cutter, chain type experience. Stand in the cattle shoot and order as fast as possible. I ordered two sandwiches and some chips for me and my 2 year old bill was OVER 20 DOLLARS!!!!
