Ok... I hate to be like everyone else here, but... the cheesesteaks, MY GOD. The cheesesteaks here have literally changed my life, and I am such a better person for have discovering them. We live across town, but this has quickly become the #1 choice for our weekly lunch date for my fiancé and I. Of course, we've ordered the cheesesteak each time. Not the hero one, the cheaper simpler one. I'm a little wary of "sauce" that different places put on cheesesteaks, honestly at other places it usually ruins it for me. But here, I highly recommend ordering it just how they make it, because whatever they're doing is PERFECT. Order the simpler cheaper cheesesteak. We've also ordered cheese fries here. The fries are good, jersey boardwalk style. They have some fancy Italian desserts that are very good too. And some artisan small batch sodas for a reasonable price, highly suggest the birch beer! Really nice little seating area to enjoy an amazing lunch with your date, friends, or colleagues. Listen... if your girl hasn't been here, take her! I also once ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese here early in the morning, my mom ordered the same. It was a little expensive, like around $5, but soooo worth it! Best bacon around. Highly...
Read moreThis is the best Italian deli I've ever been to in my life... their Italian subs are phenomenal (and they don't yell at me when I ask to add mayo, unlike many if most other Italian delis I've been to lol), as are their sides (pasta salad and potato salad and antipasto all on point) and their little snacks like their marinated stuffed cherry peppers (a classic)...
But to me they really stand out with their cheesesteaks and their in-house Italian sausage... their cheesesteak recipe calls for mixing the onions and cheese and gravy (what we Southerners call marinara sauce) and the meat together on the grill then sliding the whole gooey mix onto the buttered and grilled bread... amazing... to my tastes, by far better than any of the famous spots in Philly (Jim's, Dalessandro's, Pat's, Abner's, Cosmi's, or any of the others I've tried)... and their Italian sausage is the best I've ever tried, although if you want the spicy (my preference), you need to call in advance...
Just an amazing spot... can't wait...
Read moreSome things are great and top quality here including the Italian breads, meatballs and sauce plus the pastries are amazing but some things like the bagels and biscotti are not of the same quality. The bagels they sell are basically oversized Kaiser rolls with holes in the middle. They are nowhere close to authentic NY style bagels. The ones we bought were soft and bread like in texture and they very few sesame seeds on them so I would suggest they find a new supplier that makes them properly. I can find better bagels at Weis for less then half the price. Also the biscotti we purchased had very little flavor considering it was supposed to be sea salt caramel with chocolate drizzle plus charging $2.25 per 1 biscotti is a bit steep IMO. We will continue to shop here but some items need some improvements and possibly a less price point for...
