The parking is very easy here and very easy to find. The restaurant is clean and pleasant with basic tables and chairs. They do not cramp the space at all and it's nice because you have a little more privacy when talking to your party. The staff were pleasant and we were seated right away and actually given a choice of tables to choose from. I was surprised since it was 5:30 on a Saturday and I would expect the place to be much busier. We had 4 in our party and ordered 2 apps, a few drinks, and 4 entrees. We had crab cake app which was a special I believe ($?) and stuffed mushrooms ($16) I had scallops over a creamy butternut squash ($32) other entrees were Chicken Sorrento ($24), Fra Diavolo Al Scoglio ($38), Gnocchi Alla Checca ($22). We all also had a cesare salad each. Scallops Risotto was good but there wasn't much flavor and the risotto was overcooked and the scallops were a bit more cooked then I would expect. I did taste the Chicken Sorrento and that had a lot more flavor then my dish. The other entrees of the Fra Diavolo & Gnocchi Alla Checca were said to be delicious. The portions all around were just right as well. The appetizer I had was the crab cakes, they give you two, and I think they were on the specials menu because I can't find it on their menu on their website. Anyways, they were ok. The stuffed mushrooms were enjoyed by others in our party but I did not try any. I must say they were very small and maybe that is all that is available now, but I feel that I usually see a little more on the plate for sruffed mushrooms appetizers. They did comment they were delicious. The Ceasar salad I had was a little dry and needed maybe a tablespoon or two more dressing, and the plate was warm. Typically a salad plate is chilled but that is one small detail. They do have anchovies, much to my delight. A ceasar without anchovies really isn't a ceasar. Our party had a few mixed drinks and a few glasses of wine (8 alcoholic beverages all together). My drink was spectacular. It was a special mojito. So two thumbs up to the bar tender. In closing we averaged about $110 per person including tip. That would not be bad for a well executed upscale menu, which is what it is perceived to be from their website and menu prices. It does fall short of achieveing that goal but this was my only time there. I would go back because they have a lot of interesting items on the menu and maybe I just picked the wrong...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe haven't been here in years and thought we'd give it another try. We got there right before opening which we weren't sure what time they actually opened as the website only says open Monday through Sunday for dinner service. Since the door was locked we determined dinner service was 5 p.m. when people started driving in. We were the third group seated in the dining room at 5 p.m.. We started with the arancini's that were pretty al dente and a little too crisp on the bottom. My husband and our guest both got caesar salads that were very sparse on the dressing. Basically lettuce with a few croutons and a dab of cheese for $12 each. At the same time we ordered our dinners. About 45 minutes to an hour later our dinners finally arrived. Not sure if the waitress didn't put in our dinners when we ordered the appetizers but she blamed it on my husband's chicken Toscano that she said takes longer. Now I feel we should have been told this chicken takes extra time. When the meals finally arrived we couldn't believe the Chicken Marsalla our friend ordered. The portions were very small. It looked like an appetizer. He ordered it with a side of pasta with red sauce. My chicken piccata was good but not worth waiting that long for. My husbands Chicken Toscano was the best looking dish on the table but the mashed potato was pretty salty and chicken had few large size bones. It's a one and done for us. For $190 this should have been a much better experience for us. Giving it a 2 star due to the food wait. Our server was good. We're just not sure why it took so long to get your meals here. From what I've now heard from others, this is normal to take so long to get your meals. Now we know why there were so many people waiting to be seated. So if you go, prepare for a very long wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe hadnāt been there in quite sometime for no good reason. We found we had a gift certificate from at least a year ago so decided we should use it. Made a reservation on open table. We arrived about 10 mins early and were told we would have to wait a bit. Went into the crowded bar with no chance of seating so stood around thinking we definitely didnāt want a table in the bar. Upon Checking with the desk they assured us since we had a reservation we would be seated in the dining room. It was obvious they were extremely busy and maybe understaffed which is not a surprise. We were seated in a great location for a party of 2 and our waitress was Tanya and immediately took out cocktail order, a martini for my husband and a cosmo for me. She promptly delivered and we remarked that we were surprised at the quick delivery. She said she sometimes is the bartender and made the drinks herself since current bartender was busy. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and it came out hot, plentiful tender and delicious. For our entrees I order the veal chop which was pricey at $48 but tHe last time I had one was Las Vegas at the Giada Delorentos restaurant and I can say this one was it was equally as delicious. My husband had the little necks and linguine and really enjoyed that also. Because we had to wait for our main course we elected to have another vodka cocktail again delivered and made by our waitress an delivered with a smile. Satisfied we didnāt have desert but really enjoyed our evening and highly recommend Portecellos. We will...
