Von Thai — Restaurant in Eastpointe

Read the reviews and was eager to try another local thai location... walked into a place with a kitchen that was very messy and visible from the front desk. I ignored my instincts and picked up our food anyway. We ordered $30 dollars worth of food which included 2 entrees, chicken wings, thai coffee, and spring rolls. The spring rolls were soggy. The thai coffee had a cardboard/container like taste to it. My meal was okay (the sauce was good) but the tofu was scarce. Out of all the ingredients that were supposed to be included, I received mostly onions and a few under cooked green peppers in sauce. My boyfriend's meal was very bland (even though he ordered it at the highest spice level). I rated this experience a 2 because we still ate the meal and the location is new. We may try it again some time in the future (if they make it) and are hoping that maybe it was just a bad...

For about the last year or so I have been eating here and goodness, when I tell you they have the BEST chicken, I mean it. I don't know what it is about their sesame chicken but they truly have the greatest chicken to breading ratio I have ever had from take out, and there is something about the way it's cut, i dont know, its just perfect. Crunchy, chewy, saucy, its wonderful. Their drunken noodle is also amazing, along with their tom yum soup. Every dish I have had has excelled in comparison to any other take out place I have ever had. They have awesome vegetarian options as well, and the staff has always been super friendly, and the prices are great for the amount of food you get. They give you your food in these super awesome reusable containers that are also microwavable. I mean really, this place cannot be beat. We order here at least twice a month and have never been...

Our normal place for Thai was closed so we tried Von Thai. I was greeted by the owner and order taker immediately upon walking in. Both were very friendly and down to earth people. They each helped me to order giving me descriptions and discussing the heat (spice level). The owner prepared our food in a timely fashion. I'm on crutches and the owner was kind enough to carry my food out to my car for me. We ordered N1) Pad Thai V with Shrimp and also the Tom Kha soup with Shrimp. We were very pleasantly amazed at how phenomenally delicious the food was.

Whomever gave this place a bad review needs to give it one more try. They are fantastic in every way and will now be our go-to place for fresh and delectable Thai food.
