I was actually avoiding this place, based on the name. But as we were headed out of town, I saw a bunch of cars and figured it was worth a shot.
The entrance is pretty much ‘bar looking’, with tables in the back and on the (ocean facing) deck. The lighting is pretty dim, so that plus that we went thru the bar area, made me think we would likely leave before anyone would notice us and take our order. Pretty much everything changed after that (except it stayed dark enough you’ll need your smartphone’s flashlight to read the menu).
As soon as we were seated, the Server came by to welcome us, drop off menus, and take our drink order. She remained very attentive throughout our stay.
I got a Haddock Burger (fried Haddock). It was the best serving of Haddock I’ve had since being in Maine for the past 2 weeks (allergic to shellfish, so I’ve gotten Haddock at every restaurant… maybe 11 times so far). The fries were great too. My wife’s meal was excellent as well.
Pros: Quick & attentive service (it was actually full). Excellent quality food that was cooked very well. Made me realize most of the places further down the coast were probably stocked with frozen distributed food and this was all fresh… really very nice! Inexpensive as well.

Read moreI took my mother here a couple days ago. The service was great, top notch. The food was delicious and piping hot, just right for a nice bite. One huge observation was the waitress was very conscious of Covid 19 social distancing, sanitizing rules of the industry. She sanitized everything, including chairs, table, salt and pepper shakers after the customers left. And the entire staff wears masks. We were distance seated at our comfortable table.
When I asked for salt and pepper, the hostess sanitized the bottles from the ones the customers that just left like I mentioned, then she set them down to air off, but brought us new sanitized ones. There's more to say to all this but that's good business for me. My mother was extra happy on her first but not last visit here.
Go eat, sit down with your family. You...
Read moreIf you want a genuine New England experience, make your way here. It's like walking into the bar in the original Puff the Magic Dragon but without the bar fight :). The absolute BEST fish chowder on the planet, the Haddock in the chowder was so amazing we ordered two To-go. The mussels were so fresh you could still taste the salt water, my son ordered 2nd round. The service was friendly and the kitchen was a tad backed up but the food was more than worth the wait. Stick with their seafood, its the best of the menu, we talked about it the whole way home. And to make it even more fun, we enjoyed a few rounds beating our teens at the pool table before the food arrived-great night at...
