Eau Claire Ale House — Restaurant in Eau Claire

We have frequented this establishment a few times a month for the past 3 years. Beer selection is pretty decent. The quality of the food however has declined dramatically. Often, the burgers, fries and chicken are absorbently salty, usually due to cooks that smoke. I often observe food sitting in the window for an extended amount of time waiting for the rest of the orders to be prepared, resulting in cold entrees. Service is hit and miss, usually sub par. Over all, I do not recommend this establishment. In the winter time they're dining room is cold, in the summer the dining room is hot.

The biggest problem I've experienced made me sick to my stomach. There was a full dining room on 1/17/24 , but tables still had chairs up on top of them. The staff seem to be irritated and bothered by every customer in the restaurant. It seemed the staff was having a little get-together at the bar with their friends and children. That was irritating but what could I do?

Halfway through our meal, one of the patrons decided to take his infant and change its diaper on top of a dinner table. In the dining room. During dinner service. Making a mess and being loud about it. That is completely unacceptable behavior. All of the staff and their friends seem to have no problem with this. However our table as well as three other tables we're clearly discusseded. It was wrong of that person to do that, he was even worse that the staff continued to let it happen.

I sincerely hope the management can rectify these issues. I don't think I've ever been more...

Went on a Sunday ordered the "hand" battered cheese curds was served cheap frozen curds should have just got up and walked away at that point. The chicken wings had some sort of coating on them that just turned gummy and fell off one was under cooked and was pink in the middle. The usually straight Frank's wing sauce was applied to them.. the burger came and was no better the burger had no flavored and the bacon was cooked in a deep fryer seriously how do you ruin bacon? Oh yeah deep fry it so it tastes like Friday's fish. 1 star is too much service was horrible two people working and we where the only people I. There and still didn't get service. To busy talking to each other and texting on their phones. For the prices I would expect a higher standard. I recommend you just drive by like the rest...

Okay so we specifically went there for their prime rib because we had heard it was the 🐝 knee's.... unfortunately they had some sort of kerfuffle no prime rib....THEN we were like we're here were hungry let's give this place a try.....THE FOOD IS TO DIE FOR!!! I Had the mushroom swiss burger and cheesey garlic fries along with a lovey beer off there awesome tap menu with pretzel bun by the way. They're also old school and ask you how you want your burger done! My husband had the build your own burger with waffle fries 😋 we had a cheese curds from the appetizer menu. We definitely will be back! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff makes it this way! Clean cute bathrooms! Cannot say enough good things!! Thank y'all so much...
