Speedy's — Restaurant in Eden

As a small business owner myself, I realize the importance of positive reviews. As a person with common sense, I also realize that there will be complaints and negative reviews. There are those who, if they were in the multitude fed by Jesus, would have complained that they would have preferred trout instead of tilapia, and really had hoped for rye bread because it would suit their digestive system better. Besides, with all that food, couldn't the disciples have passed out little bottles of water to wash it down? Now for the review . . . A sanitation rating of 100% and I challenge anyone posting a review lower than four stars to find another perfect score in Eden. The grilled chicken salad was served with fresh, cold lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese, homemade croutons and steaming hot chunks of marinated chicken. Service is always friendly and Speedy makes everyone feel like a regular customer, even on the first visit. On our third visit, she commented, "It's your third time here." Yes, she pays attention. Some reviewers have commented on the prices, but the prices are fair considering how much everything costs these days. Have you bought a dozen eggs in the grocery store recently? Even a basic, flash-frozen hamburger at a fast-food restaurant is outrageous. The quality of Speedys' food is incredible, and well worth every penny. A favorite from way back. I worked at the local hospital in Eden, NC from 1997-2003. Speedys (Cliff's then) became my weekly favorite lunch spot. Skeptical at first due to the location and aesthetics, but quickly learned it is a gem of a joint. Small and in demand. The Taco Salad with 'Ma's Dressing' is like no other. It was my go to then ... and just having started going back this past year, it is still on my list of lunch favorites. My friends that I meet up with all rave about the other menu items, but I'm a creature of habit and still order the Taco Salad. Service is prompt. Edit: I tried to post a photo of the food but it would not upload for some reason. The food was good, BUT! The amount of food was not enough for the price I paid. It was almost 9 dollars for this small amount of Teriyaki chicken, rolls, this small amount of onion rings & hush puppies. I wish more chicken came with this. I'm not a very big person, and usually 9 dollars worth of food fills me up, this did not fill me up at all. That's my only complaint. This is the first thing I have ordered from here.
