We first learned about Yaupon tea at a local art show when we tried samples of Rise Yaupon strawberry glow tea. I wanted to learn more about this tea, and asked if they welcome tours at their factory. Being that we are a homeschool family, I reached out to our homeschool groups and got a group together. They did a phenomenal job with the tour! They walked us through the process they go through from first identifying a Yaupon Holly Tree, how to harvest it, how they sanatizing the leaves and sort through them by hand, then finally they carefully weigh and packaging them. We were so impressed, and enjoy the fact that this tea never gets bitter and needs no pesticides, because it has a natural defense, and is a native plant. We also toured the Dutch Oven Bread Co. At the end of the tour, we were offered samples of tea and a freshly baked scone from this special event. The staff was friendly.
