Im gonna start off by saying how all of this experince was i think because I was not eating and not paying. This was by far my favorite restraunt to come eat at during my lunch at my high school Until today. Every time I have come and eaten here it has been an enjoyable time and good food for a cheap buffet. Every time I have come to Imperial House I have always eaten. But today I came in with 4 friends who were all eating, I didn't have any cash on me so I told them I wasent eating. The second I said this the women seating us got very mad and then turned around to show us to our table. Well we asked for a booth but she would not let us sit in a booth. Instead she pointed to a tiny table where only 4 could sit semi comfortably. I'm a big guy 6'10 270 pounds and have a hard time sitting at normal sized tables. But this wasent even the worst part. She then pointed to a table about 5 feet away and said I'm going to have to sit there. I asked her "Can't we just push this small table and the normal table together. She snapped at me "No way this will not work at all go sit there" she replied. We eventually got her to let me pull up a chair and we all crammed in. So my friends get food and not even a bite into it she runs back over "You pay before you take bite. Pay now". This got me really mad but I'm not one for conflict so I'm writing this review to let you all know my terrible experience. After this the rest of the meal was fine. It's sad to see how a good place like Imperial House has a women who is this rude just because you are not paying. Sad to see this place headed...
Read moreI was in the area and wanted some food but didn't want the horror of McDonalds or Burger King, so I decided to go to the Asian House and get some basic fried rice, "to go". I went in and another customer was before me. I ordered beef fried rice. The customer before me received his order first, and apparently he ordered shrimp fried rice, and I thought either that was a coincidence or they have good fried rice. I took my food out to my work truck, and was expecting some greasy fried rice. Not only was it non-greasy but it tasted really good. I'm glad I went there, and if i'm doing business in that area again, I for sure will stop by for lunch. I felt a lot better eating there than some fast food chain, since I drive for a living. So the cool thing is, if you are a truck driver you can park on either side of the street. Plenty of room for a semi truck or equivalent. The fried rice was worthy of a five star, but i'm only giving this place four stars because I can't base a review on just the rice. But judging by the people who were there getting food, I think the other menu items might be worth trying also. I don't know about the dine-in service, but I don't go to places like this, for that type of experience. Usually take-out...
Read moreEDIT: I've since been back a few times and the most recent time will be my last. The food got back to it's original quality but as I was paying a noticed that they had their toddler in shoes standing up on a surface that was on level with other food prep surfaces and right by food storage. I'm not qualified to determine if there was a health code violation but if the staff there doesn't see a serious sanitary problem with having shoes up on counters, I'm not willing to trust the sanitary practices throughout the restaurant.
I've been coming here since it changed from Fresh Wok to Asian house. The food used to be a great deal for the price. No awards would have been given but it was solid food at a great price point. Very recently there has been a significant drop in the quality of the food that has me looking other places for lunch in the area. Hopefully they can get back on track because it was a really convenient and good...
