We've been this restaurant many times, because we loved their food. I know they always look unhappy to serve everytime when we went, but I completely disappointed this time.( sunday) Actually they don't serve well. Everytime I had to call them 2 or 3 times, even I went to them and asked for something 🙄. Today I asked for napkins, and one of waitresses told me to go to the front to have... hmmm I was nice to and we always were nice to them... but BIG ISSUE WAS "tip". They were so rude at the time. They just calculated food prices and 30 dollars tip included without asking!!! 😕 and gave us the receipt after swiping. We always paid for the bill with a credit card and gave cash for tips. Today we didn't even say we were gonna pay tip with card. But they just calculated all together what they wanted to do and swipe our card with saying noting!! I went to the counter and asked about it, and the male waiter just put the food bill and show me, said with rude" look the receipt, it is 18 percent 30 dollars tip." I said" we would give you cash. We always did like that every time we came here. But you just swipe our card including tip without asking." The male waiter told me the same thing over times. And after that one of waitresses came and explained they changed machine blabla. I don't know what that is problem with? 🤔. And then the other waitress said loudly from the back of door " just refund tip to them!" I looked at the lady. I was really dumbfounded. Well, we didn't have that money back. It was just unbelievable situation. We just said "FINE.IT'S OK." AND LEFT. It's not about how much tips, it's about how they serve customers until leaving the restaurant. I don't even expect the best service, but you should give us basic service with a nice attitude at least. Anyhow, We are done with the...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in Edison, which is exactly why I am worried about writing this review. I do not want to see a day where there are lines outside of this restaurant, but the establishment does deserve all the praise I'm about to give.
Semi-automated charcoal grills are not new, they've actually been quite popular in China and other Asian countries for a while now. That being said, I don't know any other place in New Jersey that offers this kind of infrastructure. Finding a place that specializes in Mongolian-style skewers is also quite rare.
Do not come here if you are not prepared for spice. Even if you do not add any spices to the pre-seasoned meat on the skewers (the primary spice they offer here is shichimi togarashi), those who are spice-sensitive will find themselves sweating at pretty much anything offered. If skewers aren't your thing (why are you here?), there are other offerings on the menu such as cold-dishes like cucumber salads, and even some Korean offerings (like seafood pancakes).
I do recommend at least speaking a little bit of Mandarin Chinese here to get over the language barrier, but it isn't actually necessary since the service and the menu is quite straightforward and the staff is very responsive.
This is a fun and delicious spot to go out with friends (BYOB) or a date. Just beware, if you have a party size that is larger than 6, be prepared to be seated at different tables. As this place gets more and more popular, be prepared to call ahead to place a...
Read moreThis place is such a hidden Gem please believe me when I tell you. I have lived in this area for a very long time and have always wondered about this place when I sat at the light at 27 and Plainfield Ave. The store is located next to an auto shop the windows are tinted so it doesn’t look welcoming. The other day after visiting the “H” mart lot on a Saturday, anyone who knows the spot knows that it is packed to the max in that complex. It’s a good thing but sad when you can’t get a spot at one of the restaurants. Anyway the sign had Kebabs on it with what looked like the same spices from a restaurant in the H mart lot so I decided to walk in and see what it was about. The place looks dated but it is what it is, they should definitely warm it up or decorate a little. Anyway I take a look at the menu and start to order. The kebabs get cooked in front of you and the plates are cooked in the kitchen. The food was outstanding!! That’s why I say it’s a hidden gem. It was so awesome I returned the next day. So I went Saturday and Sunday. Here is what I ate. The ham and egg fried rice, mutton soup, pig intestine, chicken wings, special beef, special lamb, gizzards, Cumin Tendon, Cumin Lamb and the pork wrapped mushrooms. Everything was so so good I can’t even explain it. You have to stop in and give it a try. I will be going back...
