Fluffy Fluffy Cafe — Restaurant in Edison

Saw that Fluffy Fluffy Cafe replaced Modern China Tea Shop and was interested in the new restaurant. Went to visit at their 3rd opening day and had a wonderful experience. Arrived in the evening and didn't have to wait to order. We got the matcha tiramisu and I had a coupon for a free slice of cheesecake. Since it was late on their last day of their grand opening weekend, I wasn't expecting for there to be any cheesecake left, but luckily they had some left. The Miss who worked the register was so perceptive and kind. I was pregnant and had my jacket on, but she somehow noticed and asked if I was expecting because she wanted to give me a heads up that there was coffee in the fluffy pancake that we ordered (it was fine, 200mL of caffeine is allowed per day for pregnant women). Her looking out for me was what made the experience unforgettable and I had not even had the food yet. When the food came out, my first bite of the fluffy pancakes solidified the decision that I had to come back again and try different flavors. It was so light and fluffy (I don't think I can go back to American pancakes) and the whipped cream gave it a perfect hint of sweetness. My husband really loved the texture as well. The basque cheesecake was delicious as well, next time we will try the earl grey one 😋

Went there early on grand opening day — was one of the first 50 people hoping to snag some free merch and try those fluffy pancakes. The line was super long and moved slowly; it took over 2 hours just to order and another 30mins to receive my food, and I didn’t even get any merch even though I was within the first 50. I grabbed the matcha pancakes and strawberry matcha drink to go since there were no open seats and I didn’t feel like waiting even longer. The drink was alright, but the matcha flavor wasn’t as strong as other spots, and the pancakes were just okay (probably better if eaten fresh). No food is worth this wait. 4 hours. This grand opening was so poorly executed. Workers were slow and there was an extremely long wait. At one point when we were waiting outside, one worker came out to give coupons. She went down the line and promised to come back out to give more, but she never came back. After ordering, we asked if we could get some, and the worker seemed annoyed we even asked. As we were waiting for food, numbers after us were getting their food first, come to find out certain meals take much longer to come out.
