Hostess greeted us fairly quickly & was efficient & friendly.
Server was inattentive & disappeared for after taking order. She had 3 tables including ours - we were all right next to each other. A 4-top & two 2-tops.
A manager dropped our salads & walked off. As he turned to leave we tried to catch him as salads had very little dressing.
Our server never came by to check on us & to make sure our salads were good.
Server finally returns after 15mins & as predicted (I literally said to my husband that if I let her know we’ve been waiting to let her know we need dressing that she’ll say, “I’m just super busy!”) when letting her know we’ve been waiting for her return, she snaps at me saying, “yeah, I’m just really busy. What do you need?”
Even though I predicted her response, it’s still shocking to hear it - especially the tone in which it was delivered. And especially since you’re expecting a tip from us.
Let the manager know and he seemed completely unphased but thanked us for letting him know, and walked off. Didn’t ask if we needed anything else, didn’t grab our empty dishes, nothing.
A few minutes later our server returned and apologized for “snapping at me”.
While I appreciate that it took some balls to apologize, it was her behavior that followed that told us it was insincere and likely produced at the managers suggestion.
This was our first time back in over 4 years. We absolutely love the ambience, but service has always been an issue at this location. We’ve never experienced this at Memorial.
Too bad. They’ve got a gem but it’s not being cared for & it all starts at the top.
There’s also a generational mindset that servers should be tipped just for showing up. That “being super busy” is a proper excuse for bad service. That somehow our being hungry and choosing your restaurant to feed us is an inconvenience because you just don’t have it in you to suck up your frustration and deliver service with a smile.
At the very least, don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Perhaps you’d be better suited in another industry.
Nothing changes if nothing changes and unfortunately, the service at this location has not changed.
We love to tip for good+ service. Even when service isn’t good, we leave SOMETHING along with a note letting them know why.
When we experience good or superior service, we will always leave a note of appreciation with at least 30%, and will let management know so they can reward the employee and encourage others to provide the same service.
Again, it all starts at the top.
Caesar salads - good but need more dressing 4/5
Chicken parm - noodles were really greasy and Alfredo lacked flavoring 3/5
Cauliflower pepperoni & sausage pizza...
Read moreI really hate leaving unfavorable honest reviews. My fam went here to celebrate my son's 20th bday last night. We don't go to expensive higher-end restaurants often so it was a special occasion and we expected better-than-Olive-garden food. My 2 fam members who got the chicken risotto did love theirs. The bread was good. The server, Riley, was amazing, respectful, and attentive. Seating was comfortable. That is the extent of the positives. The chicken piccata dish was lackluster and not very flavorful. The lasagna was a huge disappointment as the bottom was burned, and my son said the lasagna I make at home (yes with a jar of prego) is far superior. He showed me the unedible leathery bottom of his lasagna he set aside, it was very unappetizing. I had the Alfredo with chicken. It tasted okay, but was very peppery and nowhere near as good as Olive Garden alfredo sauce. Not only that, but I then spent the hours of 11pm to 5am with intense waves of nausea, cramping, and diarrhea. It is 6:30am now and I still feel sick after a horrible night of gastrointestinal distress. Now Google prompts me to leave a review. Sorry to say I really don't know that I would eat here again. It was way too expensive for an underwhelming and sickening...
Read more(to-go order) I've lived up the street from this place since moving to Oklahoma 2 years ago and never tried it until tonight. I should have listened to the other transplants and left this place alone. The so-called Spicy Sausage Rigatoni was absolutely swimming in grease and oil; legitimately half an inch up the wall of my takeout container was filled with orange grease. I drained what I could and then noticed that there's not actually any sausage in the Spicy Sausage Rigatoni. Instead they use sausage "crumbles" which just adds to the sloppy, greasy mess. So after straining it, I finally took a bite. I'm not sure I've ever had a saltier, greasier dish in 47 years on this planet. It was equivalent to licking the rim of a margarita glass and then taking a shot of grease. As I almost could not believe just how awful it was, I drank some water and had a second and a third forkful. Each bite was just as bad. I'm angry at myself for blowing $30 on imitation Italian food, and then still having to cook. Def not expecting what we've always enjoyed living in NJ, but this wasn't even edible, given the level of salt and oil used. Maybe you'll have...
