Google reviewers gave it a 4.6. I wanted sushi, and it was on my way.
Eastern Phoenix is located right on the White Horse Pike, a click West of EHC downtown, but it is a little tricky to find from the east going west because of the lack of lighting. The parking lot was empty, and the lights were dim. So I scratched my head, thinking, Houston, we have a problem!
And to make things worse, a sign on the door said, Kitchen Help Wanted. Usually, it means time to run.
But, my hunger got the best of me, and they were open, so I entered and received a not-so-friendly greeting from the young women behind the counter.
There are a few tables, booths, and a small sushi bar with four seats. The restaurant is clean but a little crowded with supplies. I opted for a booth that was already set up. It was quiet.
Once I got comfortable, it took a few minutes to get a menu and drink request and she warmed up a bit. But, I did notice hearing new orders popping through the system, so they were a little busy with to-go orders.
The menu is decent, with Japanese, Chinese, and other Asian options. I ordered a Maki combo that included three assorted rolls and came with Miso soup and garden salad with ginger dressing.
The Miso soup was delicious and a nice-sized bowl, so I ordered a pint to go. The salad was just an Iceberg, as expected, with ginger dressing.
The three Maki rolls were excellent in size, and each had its distinguished taste and came with an adequate amount of ginger and wasabi. I also ordered a Philly and California roll, which were perfect portions.
Overall, my experience was surprisingly good after breaking through the barriers. Pricing, portions, and presentation were above expectations.
I loved my experience and will try again when...
Read moreI have been picking sushi up from here for years now. It’s decent quality for the area. After the rude and poor service I received while picking up my sushi order tonight I will never come back. I have never been treated so poorly from a restaurant in my life. I also have never felt the need to actually log on to leave a negative review for a restaurant even if I had a bad meal. However I rather throw my money in the trash before ever giving another dollar to this restaurant and it’s incredibly rude staff. It was a husband and wife that both delivered such low quality service. Tried making me pay for my Togo order a second time (what a scam) I had to pull up my bank app to show them they already had taken my money and I’d be dammed if I would give them another penny. Watch out for these scammers. If I was not paying attention I am sure they would have happily charged my card multiple times, as the man continued to insist that I insert the chip multiple times, after the card reader had already said accepted and thank you. By the time I made it home my hot food was cold and sushi was warm. Thanks for attempting to scam me and delay my...
