UPDATED: Would not recommend if you have a toddler or small child. The food is great, although be prepared to wait if going on a weekend night. We have been patrons since the opening and I have brought several party groups and other family members. We are never less than 4-5 orders. We go out to eat every Friday and Tacos el Tio was one of our favorites, but not anymore. We went early, had baby food, playdough, crayons, bottle, toys, etc. My 20 month old was happy and saying "hi" to everyone most of the time. However, every now and then, he was letting out a high-pitched scream, either when he was playing with his sister or when he was upset about something. But mostly there no discernable antecedent, he's a toddler, who knows why they do what they do? He was NOT throwing a constant fit, and the restaurant was so loud, I had to yell my order and repeat it 3 times for the server to hear me. The manager came over and said there were complaints and "can you pick him up or something?" Novel idea, so I did and then he did throw a toddler fit. I So we packed up our meals, I still had to wait for my to-go order and we left after I told the manager how upsetting it was, especially considering how loud it was in there. She was polite and listened to my concern, but as a mother, if you have ever been out with a toddler, you know how stressful/upsetting this can be. Like I said, we go out every Friday and have NEVER had a manager approach us to complain about him. Angelo, we loved your restaurant, but I am sorry to say you have lost our business.

Read moreMy boyfriend and I just moved down here for school and we passed this restaurant so many times and I was SO excited to try it out after reading over the menu and all reviews. We finally went tonight and as soon as we reached the hostess stand to put in our name for 2, I was treated with terrible customer service. There were 2 girls working the stand, playing on their phones, not even noticing us at first. We arrived at 7:30 and was told that the only available seats were at the bar but we were looking for a full dining experience as it was our first time eating out since we moved down here and were willing to wait the time for a real table. She had an attitude and told us that the next available table would be at 8. Totally understandable and we were willing to wait with no issues at all. She again, offered us the bar and when we kindly said we’d wait, she gave us a dirty look, asked for my name, mumbled something under her breathe to her hostess partner (who was on her phone the entire time) which caused her to laugh. Definitely was saying something rude about us. We were asked “a table for 2?” 3 times and each time was a yes, like whats the issue?? After all that, we decided to not even bother and take our business somewhere else. I’ve worked in customer service for countless years and never ever is it okay for someone to speak to NICE PAYING CUSTOMERS that way or even be on their phones like that. Totally disrespectful and not at all who I would want working for my business. Such a shame since we were so excited to try...
Read moreMy family and I came in and were super excited to try this place out. We sat around the bar area on the high tops. Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the best. The service was slow and felt very unprofessional. We weren’t approached by anyone for 20 minutes after being seated. Our server Kimberly might’ve been having an off day as she seemed unhappy serving us. She never checked on our table and would quickly run away before we could even finish telling her what we needed whenever she had time to bring it. we could never seem to fully grab her attention for a minute throughout our time there. As a restaurant worker I understand being busy but I don’t understand not acknowledging a table throughout their time with you. As a server you set the mood for the experience and she didn’t give us a good one. I’ve never left a review for bad service unfortunately until today. We also had asked if they could sing happy birthday when bringing the dessert over and we’re told that would be no problem. But it never happened which completely through me off guard, but brushed it off. The food was good! My family enjoyed there entrees. I got the veggie burrito and it was okay, it was lacking flavor. We also tried the tres leches and flan. The tres leches is phenomenal. The flan is more dense, wasn’t a fan. Overall wasn’t a good experience...
