The Inkuisition — Local services in Egg Harbor Township

Super bummed to even have to write a review like this. I’ve been a repeat client of the inkusition for years, since they opened. Even after moving 2 hours away, I still take the trip to see Lauren. After today, I can’t say that I will ever return.

The front door states the shop opens at 11 on Saturdays and I had an 11:30 appointment today. I made my two hour commute and parked around 11:20. Noticed another woman trying to open the door but it was locked. Called the shop, no answer. Had to take to Instagram direct messages to find out what happened, and saw a message from 9am stating my artist was sick with a “warning” note. No formal cancellation, no options for dates to reschedule, no resolution. I was told that the owner Jamie should be there, so I waited until 11:45 to see if I could come up with a resolution with her. She never showed. I left and drove two hours back home. This shop has gone downhill in the past couple of years, no reliable hours of operation (randomly closed during the holiday season when a family member came to get a gift card), no communication, no front desk staff but clients are expected to put deposits down incase they get sick and cancel.

We had an incredibly frustrating experience with this tattoo parlor over a two-month period. We tried to contact them through all the ways they suggested, including Instagram, email, and phone, but it was like pulling teeth to get a response. In fact, we still have not received a single response to any of the messages we've sent. When we finally spoke to someone on the phone, they made it seem like the artist we wanted was too busy, and when we asked for another artist, suddenly that one was busy too. It's frustrating that you can't walk in and talk to the artists in person, and everything is done through email. It's like they've turned tattooing into a game of Tinder. They seem to only care about taking on clients whose artwork will make their portfolio look better, and they're not interested in providing a positive customer experience. This was supposed to be a sweet 16 gift for my daughter, with her mother's message of 'I love you' tattooed over her collarbone, and it's heartbreaking that we couldn't make it happen with this parlor. In the end, after two months of frustration, we had to give up and look for another tattoo parlor that actually cares about their customers. I can’t say enough good things about Tanner! He is the expert piercer at Inkuisition and he was so amazing with piercing my nose! The girl at the front desk was also very nice and welcoming. The studio has a really cool, vampire diaries ish, gothic vibe. Tanner is so well educated and knowledgeable about what he does and that really meant a lot to me, and he was so willing to answer every and any questions and go above and beyond with explaining everything in detail. It was worth every penny. I had previously had my nose pierced and always had it be very irritated and constantly was getting bumps(keloids). It’s been over a month now with my piercing from Tanner and I have not had one irritation at all. Also, the piercings that they use are from a specific brand that I don’t remember the name of but it is not your standard loopy piercing like other shops in the area use and now I see that the one they use is way way better for the healing process as you don’t have to worry about it constantly pulling or coming out.
