The overall experience here was terrible. Upon arriving it took ten minutes to be greeted. The woman in the register was with a customer. Not once did she say hello or said she would be right with us. So mean while my family and I decided to look around at the items being sold there (we waited because my family and I really wanted to try their food, after reading the good reviews). A young lady came out from the back with food for one table and we expected to be seated or at this point anything! We finally decided to sit down and look for the menu online. We ordered six different dishes. Keep in mind the prices in the menus are not the current prices they charge towards the end and they do not discourse that. They also have a sign saying to be patient with our order due to it being done from scratch. Well, people kept coming in to eat and they were seated and served their food between 15-20 min. Our food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive! We sat there the whole time. They came out once saying your food is almost done. We thought about leaving but honestly it was a lot of food that was being made so we stayed. Finally when the food came.. it was even more disappointing. The chicken was old, did not taste good at all. It looked like it had been reheated multiple times, the fish had a foul smell, the goat was very tough and the taste overall was not pleasant, the rice in all dishes was instant rice just reasoned different. The fufu was not brought with a side dish of water how everyone else had been. Upon leaving we ended paying more because the prices on the menus were not updated said the old man who was at the register. I will not go there again. Food not worth the wait, more money, and they don’t value their customers. You will be in the restaurant literally all alone because they are all in the back. I’d like to add that, I brought the food home to feed it to my dog so it wouldn’t go to waste and he didn’t even eat it! That’s how bad...
Read moreAs a Nigerian, I do my best to support Nigerian businesses. I therefore debated seriously if I should write this review and came to the conclusion that perhaps a HONEST review will be in the best interest of the management and all customers and maybe this may lead to improvements
Without an iota of doubt, this is the poorest representation of a Nigerian restaurant i have been anywhere in the world. Let me start with the ambience, it looked more line a disheveled store than a restaurant with all sorts of odds ends and boxes stacked in plain sight.
The old lady who attended to me was polite enough especially as I spoke Yoruba but the food was horrible. I ordered for Pounded yam, efo riro and assorted meat. I mean you can't really get "poundo" wrong, the efo was bland but at least edible, the problem was the meat.
The assorted meat was simply anything they must have left in the fridge they just added to the food. There was what I recognized as "Isi ewu" (what's Isi Ewu doing in assorted), some other unidentifiable pieces of meat that came from a stale tasting red stew. Haba, it would have been better they said they didn't have assorted and I ordered something else.
The food was poor, poor, poor and I said that added stew was stale and I felt the "Isi ewu" was some left over. It's a poor representation of our rich culture and cuisine and I implore the old lady to make a decision if she really wants to run a restaurant (and get competent hands) or she wants to run an...
Read moreThere are a multitude of things wrong with this restuarant. First thing, couldn't even tell the restaurant was open due to their open sign being so dimly lit. The server was nice but she was practically whispering and we could barely hear her. The food was by far the worst I've ever tasted. We spent $35 for the food and the best part of the meal was the Aquafina water bottle they gave.Jerk Chicken was dry, fish was cold, rice was bland, and the beef kebab thing they serve tasted like beef jerky with chalk. Most importantly the price, their entrees were way too expensive for the portion. The rice and Jerk chicken was around $10. I received literally one thigh piece (which wasnt even edible because it was burnt) and a ton of rice. Overall they have a ton of stuff to fix and if not they're going to go out of business real soon. P.S to the owner if he/she ever reads this. It may be cost effective to cook food before hand and reheat the food and serve to customers but that is a surefire way to lose customers. Food literally tasted like it was made 2 days beforehand, put in a microwave, and...
