We were in El Paso for the weekend and went to coco bar with another couple in total it was four of us. We ordered several drinks and a cold plate by the time we decided we wanted a bottle of Buchanan. The waitress (Alea) mentioned something about a promotion with Buchanans and food and said she could add the bottle we already had, so we ordered a pizza to get the promotion. WE ONLY HAD ONE BOTTLE FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT! Later on in the night several friends arrived and they were drinking beer and they had their OWN tab. The next day we realized we had been charged two bottles of Buchanans and not one and we called in. Supposedly we spoke to a manger who had us send him pictures of the receipt and later told us his waitress (Alea) had told him we sent the bottle to a table next to us. Which I’m sure we did not do. Obviously we told him that was a lie, he sent me screenshots of the her saying that(like that’s supposed to matter) and he said we could go in on Tuesday to see the cameras ourselves. Unfortunately we could not do that because we were only in town for the weekend, and we told him that but, we had our friend who lives in El Paso call so he could go in and check the cameras and they gave him the run around as-well. He deliberately let his waitress (Alea) steal from us, he did not try to look into the situation at all. I will never go back and of course I’m not recommending the place to ANYBODY. I have a restaurant myself and I know if a similar issue arose I wouldn’t wait for the customer to show up and check the cameras, I would do it myself. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since I own a business as well and I’d appreciate the gesture but all they do is scam you. I didn’t report it to my cc company right away to give them the chance and after 48 hours I couldn’t do it (it’s not a US card). I reported it as well so hopefully this saves someone else the trouble, avoid this place like the plague and if you go, order and pay as you go this looks like it comes from the top. Since the owner also knew about it and still haven’t...
Read moreI had the worst night when I went to coco bar. Our waiter's name was LUIS, and he made sure we knew that after we were calling him "sir" as sign of respect when we would order our drinks. He got upset and, very disrespectfully, told us his name was "LUIS" not "sir". I asked him what flavors they had on certain drinks and he gave me attitude and forced me to just pick a flavor because he didn't want to go and check what was available. I was asking what flavors they carried because different establishments carry different brands and flavors of seltzers. After we "chose" a flavor, he came back upset for us to pick something else because they didn't have it and, again, didn't provide information on what they DID have. He took it upon himself to slide my friends as they were STILL sitting down and move them so that HE could forcefully pass between us to get to a table behind us when there was an actual walkway around; his lazy ass just HAD to pass through there. He never asked for permission to touch my friends or move them as they were enjoying the live band, nor did he apologize after moving them WITHOUT consent. He just showed up like a creep and just moved them and pinched part of their thighs along the way with the way he grabbed the chair as they were sitting on it. At the end of the night, he threw money at me and said "you forgot your change". The section we were sitting at was extremely hot. Everyone around was using menus to fan themselves. Such an unpleasant experience that forced us to leave early and go across the street to bars with...
Read moreNice Venue but I saw something disturbing. Sitting where I was, I was watching the Basketball game that was on, when I noticed my waiter, who was standing at the far end of the bar, pouring himself and then tasting a glass of wine. At first I thought, wow, they let the employees drink on the job. Then I watched him swirl it around, stick his nose in it to smell it and then taste it again. He was also looking at the bottle he had poured it from (it was a small individual sized bottle). He then took a napkin and wiped off around the rim of the wine glass and walked out and gave it to a paying customer.... All I can figure is maybe the product was expired? I mean I hope it was that and he was tasting it to make sure it was OK vs. he was somehow spitting into it. Very disturbing. Up to this point, I found the atmosphere and staff very nice and friendly, also the food I had already eaten was very good, but after seeing that I have to wonder and just hope they weren't licking the food before they brought it out (got to make sure it's OK Yo)...ugh. As good as the food was, I really can't recommend this place. If indeed the primary concern was the customer and is this stuff OK then pour some in your own glass and sip/sniff/put your tongue in that one. If you go here, you'll probably like the atmosphere and food... But you got to...
