Nu-Quality Ice Cream Bar — Restaurant in Elizabeth City

Hi there! Friendly local here and just want to give some feedback to hopefully help where it's needed. We went out for ice cream tonight (4/3/24) as we enjoyed it last season but something was very off tonight. First I asked for a chocolate peanut butter milkshake and unfortunately it just was horrible. There was globs and globs of peanut butter none of which were mixed at all; I mean not blended what so ever. I think it was just milk and peanut butter because I couldn't even taste or see ice cream. The banana split we ordered was served in a French fry tray, which ultimately the ice cream started melting causing the tray to completely disintegrate leaking everywhere. There were no cherry's or whip cream. It was over loaded in sauce; have got to get better trays to hold ice cream in! The cookie sandwich we ordered had a very hard cookie making it impossible for my three year old to eat. We got home and sadly threw it all away and settled for some store bought ice cream sandwiches. We of course love to support local but want to certainly give you feedback to hopefully improve for our next return whenever that may be. Cool vintage time warp spot has kept up with today's love for ice cream! Walkup outdoor ordering like in the 60's, but no longer sliding screen doors at the counter. AC now requires a solid door, but design is similar. Classic menu with favorites, and the employee made my old favorite, the Banana Royale no longer on the menu. Banana in the bottom of a small sundae cup, vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, wet walnuts, and I omitted the sprinkles from the original. You may as well plan on sitting at one of the large concrete patio tables. Can't drive and eat it. They have great milkshakes, I hear. Delicious! I got a shaved ice cream which is ice cream between two layers of shaved ice (I think it's two layers? It may just be the top layer is shaved ice. By the time I got to the bottom of this massive thing it was too melted to be sure), and the ratio of shaved ice to ice cream is the only thing I didn't enjoy. Took me ages to get to the ice cream.
