Long review DISCLAIMER!!! I was traveling from the Carolinas to NYC and after shopping at the Linden Walmart Supercenter, I was very hungry and desired some pancakes. After scouring Google reviews for some place nearby besides Ihop to satisfy my hunger, I decided to check out Kelly's Breakfast at 159 Elmora Avenue. However, I was pressed for time on a sit down meal since I was trying to make it to Brooklyn in time to pick my Mother up from church. Well, I just happened to find myself near New Jersey this morning and wanted to still have my meal from Kelly's Breakfast. Around my morning arrival time paid street parking in front of the establishment was limited but I was able to find parking on the side street within a short walking distance. I was met with a greeting and a friendly smile as I entered and approached the counter. No, this is not a big place, but with ample seating to accommodate 2 or 4 guests at a table the vibe is inviting, warm, and relaxing! There's a TV tune to the news if you're interested! As I was dining alone I glanced to see what was the latest happenings in our world. It did not take long for my order to arrived to my table and I gave it a 10 for presentation. Also, a 10 for taste, portion size, and quality. Another 10 for CUSTOMER SERVICE OVERALL and accommodating a small request reference my phone. The prior reviews that stirred me in the direction to Kelly's Breakfast did it justice and I will continue with my 5 Stars. Kelly, who was also the hostess, is charming and checks on you to ensure everything is good. I will be back in my...
Read moreDecided to try this place based on the good reviews but man was I wrong- whenever I called to make the order I had to repeat it numerous times as the person who I spoke to on the phone didn't seem to understand. I was reading off the menu and had to repeat myself multiple times. When I got to the restaurant, the girl at the cashier was extremely rude and arrogant when I questioned the amount they were charging me for the order. Whenever I asked why it was so much she raised her voice and started saying that that’s just how much it was because I had ordered so much- which I hadn’t. I started to show her the prices on the menu found online and she said that they weren’t right and that was she was charging me was what it was. When I told her I didn’t appreciate her attitude and rudeness she said she wasn’t giving me any repeatedly and kept interrupting me while I was trying to talk. She said I wasn’t the one paying for the ingredients and that her restaurant was cheap compared to other ones around. I would steer clear of this place it’s not worth the expensive prices and hassle from employees that have no experience in customer service and awful attitudes. The food was also very bland, it had no flavor whatsoever so it’s definitely not worth spending all that money on food without...
Read moreThis place was perfect. Not so crowded but definitely conveniently censored in a busy area. I know for a fact because I live around this area that if there was an actual parking lot for vehicles, this place would have a line wrapped around the corner. The portions are grand and even the plates that the food is served on proves they care about not only their craft but the service to their consumers. I love this place and only for the breakfast I enjoyed before the service they rendered. Once again, the surrounding area parking situation then this place would be more packed than it was. The home Fries were spectacular and the pancakes were not only fluffy and gold, but so good that as you poured syrup on it, the pancake itself soaked in the syrup into it. You need to pour more. You can definitely tell they care about their food and they come out with the food faster than most IHOPs I have been to. Overall this is a great place to spend time with family after church Sunday and not so far from the well-known park Warianco for those that would like to take a nice walk to digest the food properly. I would also like to finish with the freshly squeezed orange juice...
