Olgas place is a land mark in the Elizabeth Port. To know Olga's is to know Elizabeth. Tucked away on a quiet one way street. Just on the other side of where the Turnpike divides the Frog Hollow Section of Elizabeth from the rest of the city. Olga has been one of the best places to enjoy. Recently remodeled and updated. This family owned an operated Restaurant/ Bar. Has been serving the best 🇨🇷 Costa Rican Cusine for over 20 years. The menu is full of all sorts of great dishes. From a surf and turf to a Chifrijo. One of my personal favorites. White Rice covered in black beans with small pieces of Chicharon mixed in. ( fried pork bits) topped with pico de gallo and sliced avocado. A hardy meal. My go to after a long day and an empty stomach. The prices are really reasonable.
If you are just looking to have a good time and catch up with some friends. Olga's Place is that place. Where the music is playing just loud enough to make you dance in your seat. But not so loud where you can't enjoy the conversation with your date. You can sit at the bar or dinning room. TVs align the walls. You can catch the latest sporting event. Don't see the game you are looking for. Ask one of the friendly managers. They will be happy to look for it and put it on for you.
Talking about the bar. They serve the latest and trendiest drinks. The bar tenders and wait staff are on point. Everyone is super friendly and go out of thier way to make you feel at home. The place is really busy on the weekends. As it has it share of local regulars and people who come from all over the state. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the building. If you know me and follow my post and reviews. You know I really enjoy my Cappuccinos. Ximena is one of the servers and makes it perfect every time. Ask for her to make your Cappuccino. You won't be disappointed. They have something going on every day of the week. Karaoke,Salsa Night and even a game night. You can enjoy singing along with the staff. They seem to know all the songs. Claudia will entertain you with her singing. Karla will charm you with her great smile and personality. You won't ever have to wait long. For your food or drink. I enjoy Thursday Nights when Kelly and Hariana are working. They make sure my order is right everytime. Olga's Place is trendy, hip yet they maintain a great family atmosphere. I just can't say enough about this place.
I dont offer 5 stars often but this place is really that good. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook to stay connected with what's going on. I have quickly become a regular. I bet you might to....
Read moreThis was the most unacceptable service I’ve ever had at a restaurant (I’ve never written a bad bad review). We were tended to right away which was great. However, we ordered our drinks and the waitress forgot 1 drink apologizing she forgot to put it in. Okay cool no big deal. We order our food. An hour goes by still no sight of our food. We ask a passing waiter if she could check up on our food exclaiming it’s been over an hour; we never hear back. When our food finally arrives (it’s been an hour 15) my brothers food comes out cold. He finishes as the rest of us wait for ours. Then my food comes out. Immediately I notice my order was wrong. I had to eat the food in order for it to not get too cold. I’m halfway through my food when the other two plates come out. Keep in mind one of the plates were made nachos. If all plates had come out at once I could attempt to understand why it took so long but, considering that they all came out at different times, the small plate of nachos should not have taken an hour 15 to come out. It was only till the end of our meal that who I assume was the manager , came out and began to ask us how our meal was (first time were being asked in the night) and presumes to hand us mini shot glasses. As if that equates to the horrible experience we had. We returned the shot glasses back immediately as it felt like a bribe and never once did...
Read moreBeen patronizing this restaurant since 2011. I travel around the world for work but when visiting family, friends and colleagues come to NJ I have elected to bring them here because of the consistent customer service, sangria and picadas. The first young lady that was our sever excellent but at some point during our lunch we noticed she went to tend to the bar. My colleague doesn’t not drink alcohol and I was driving so we ordered a strawberry lemonade and a mint lemonade that were too sour and tart so we needed water after that. The 2nd young lady that came to the table seemed to have a problem that my colleague is comfortable drinking tap water, he pointed at his glass of water, ordered tap water, she came back with bottle water, at which he kindly reminded her, no bottle, tap water and she NEVER came back with his water. 3rd male server after a long wait still no water started tending our table brought bottle water. The music was way too loud to hear yourself have a conversation. The $35 picada: 2 pieces of fish and the steak was overcooked. We love to tip over 22% but since the gratuity was included, we chose not to leave an additional tip. I was so disappointed and embarrassed at the service and for those reasons I don’t think I’ll be bringing...
