This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I haven't ever had anything bad here.
When you sit down, your waitress brings you fresh tortilla chips and 2 kinds of salsa. The first is your standard tomato salsa - tasty, but it doesn't compare to the avocado salsa. I could drink this stuff with a straw, it is so good! If you do, it's OK, because they will refill it without being asked.
My go to lunch order is 2 cecina sopes with a side order of cebolitas. For those who never order anything but steak/carne asada, or chicken, give cecina a try. It is slightly salty dried beef, but not tough and chewy like jerky. It is only slightly dried. Dopes are like a smallish tostada, but with a fried mass dough cup instead of a fried tortilla. Cebolitas are knob onions. Los Arcos drops theirs in the deep fryer, which makes them very sweet. Think the inside of good onion rings. An order is 6 to 8 onions and two big jalapenos.
There are a bunch of great options on the menu. They have a big cooler of imported, bottled sodas and beers. They also have an orange juice machine that fresh squeezed your drink...
Read moreI had placed my order over the phone and ordered chicken flautas which were listed on their online google maps menu for $8.99. When I picked up my order an hour before closing time, they gave me a chicken torta. I had told them that what they gave me was the wrong order because I had ordered chicken flautas not a chicken torta. The guy was arguing with me about what I had ordered and proceeded to tell me that if I wanted flautas it would be $13.95. I told him that it said $8.99 for flautas in their google maps menu and he told me “No, we don’t have an online menu that’s the palatine location.” I showed him that it was the menu associated to their restaurant on google maps and he said, “No it’s not.” Even though I showed him on my phone that it was his location and not palatine. I will NEVER order from this restaurant EVER AGAIN!!!! I walked out with the Torta and it wasn’t even any good. It was mushy and didn’t have a lot of chicken or vegetables in it. Save your money and spend it on a restaurant that cares about...
Read moreThis is my favorite local spot right now. I'm absolutely addicted to the tortas. The bread is so soft. The lettuce and tomato are fresh and lubed up with a nice mayonesa. I get the al pastor with it and it has a small layer of beans and the juices from the meat soak into the bottom layer of the bread. Mixed with the creamyness of the mayonesa I'm just in heaven. I was also surprised that their rice is cooked well and has flavor. A lot of places just give you unseasoned rice and veggies but this place just hits and connects everything together. It's well prepared, well cooked and you can tell they put thought into your order. I've gotten some other menu items for family and friends and they all enjoy it. I only order delivery but it's always warm and packaged well. I have this problem where when I really like a place I always forget to take a picture of the food cuz it's just that damn good. I've ordered the torta twice this week and I will def be...
