I would've given this 5 stars if the old staff and the cooking was still the same.

Unfortunately, last night was by far the worst service from one of the staff members. There's this male staff that was the only one wearing a hat. His service is by far subpar!!! Everytime we kept trying to get his attention he would literally ignore us on purpose and hand it off to another male staff who was by far courteous. He would make eye contact act like he was busy when he wasn't and mosey along. However, he would pick other customers and provide service to them!?! Like bro was being racist. This guy made the experience terrible regardless if the food was good. We came in and there wasn't even a welcome greeting like they typically do!! We were ignored upon arrival and the staff was huddling around where the cashier was. I've had more than a decade of hospitality experience and I would've just chosen to go to a hole in the wall place rather than getting the service from this location. I wouldn't recommend going here. Go to Mitsuwa instead at least there you're getting the authentic experience, great food and hospitable staff! Or if you really want to try out Misoya hit the City location!!!

For the owner - I would highly suggest retraining your staff on the words - customer service, hospitality, inclusion and authenticity. None of which was exemplified by your staff member. People go there for the experience of authentic Japanese food. No matter how good your food is... If your service is terrible that is all your guest(s)...

What an extremely disappointing experience. We were looking very much forward to eating ramen as we've enjoyed this establishment pre-covid days. However, after we received our appetizers, we never received our main course, the noodles. Many customers that were seated after us (one party was even larger than us) received their ramen noodles but not us. After waiting patiently for at least 90mins (including the wait time to be seated), we inquired about the status of our order. It became apparent that they had forgotten (or neglected) our order and it was nowhere near being ready. In fact they had packed one of our orders as a to go when we were sitting at the counter... At that point we decided to leave since we were ignored ever since our orders were taken. No one asked about if everything is ok or if we needed the check or anything or followed up on our order. No apologies were made for our forgotten food and wasted time. The waitress even had the audacity to ask us if we were only paying for the appetizers that we received. Of course we will only pay for the food we actually received. Since when is it expected to pay for goods we never received? Absolutely ridiculous and utterly disappointing service. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. Since we never got our dinner like intended, we went down the street to Portillo's where we received a fast, prompt, and...

Definitely the best Remen place in Chicagoland, directly operated by a Japan's very famous Miso Ramen chain "Tadokoro Shouten".

You can have real Japanese Miso Ramen here, and actually I like their's better than Tadokoro in Japan.

They offer Spicy Ramen for those who love super spicy taste, but if you want to enjoy deep miso flavor, avoid it and order Spicy Miso on the side instead.

Enjoy the miso ramen as is first, and add "just a little bit" of spicy miso in the middle to make it a bit spicy, yet you can still enjoy miso flavor. (We call it "Piri-Kara" = lightly spicy.)

The amount of spicy miso they put totally kills miso flavor. Piri-Kara is the way you should go to enjoy any spicy food.

Personally, Hokkaido miso is the best with deep miso flavor, and Ise miso is also good with a bit lighter flavor. (and Spicy miso on the side)

If you know real Japanese miso ramen, you will not be disappointed.

Oh, don't forget to order Gyoza, too. Their Gyoza is very good.

In case there is anybody wondering why fried poteto for Hokkaido, and fried shrimp for Ise...,

Hokkaido : The region is famous for Potate production.

Ise : Famous for Ise-Ebi = Lobster. (See the location of the regions in a map below.)

Don't know why fried tofu for Tokyo...

It is very good, solid, ramen; however, not the best I have ever had. You can tell this place is popular. It is a small hole-in-the-wall place in the middle of a strip mall. There is not too much seating inside. So there is a kiosk set up at the doorway to place yourself on a virtual waiting line. The service is bare bones. The menus are on the table. The servers take your order, drop off your food, and take care of the bill. Serviceable, but not much extra. The ramen itself is above average, but not the best I have had. And maybe it is just a matter of each individual’s palate. The broth was flavorful, but I have had others with much more depth. The charu has a grilled taste. This is different than other charu I have had which had more a velvety fatty taste to them. And I absolutely do not understand the pieces of French fries in the ramen. The longer they sit in the broth, the mushier they became. And I did not like the fried potato taste with the ramen. It seemed out of place. As popular a this ramen restaurant seems, they seem to be doing something right. As I said, to me with my palate, I think this is an above average bowl of ramen. I enjoyed my time here.

I'm a big fan of Ramen. I've eaten it in Japan and in many locations in the States and in Canada. I take the time to make it myself. I slow cook pig's feet and neck bones to make stock, etc. So when I run into a gem like this place, I get excited. Tiny hole in the wall but, worth the trip and the wait if you have to. The stock is phenomenal. They specialize in pork broth and miso blends. They do have a vegetarian one with a kelp blend, but the pork and miso is king. I had the ISE, which is their dark miso. It's sharper and has more funk. The ramen was called ISE Cha-Shu Ramen. 3 pieces of the pork in there and it was grilled perfectly. The egg, fried shrimp and ground pork were quite tasty as well. The noodle was pretty standard and had a good bite to it. My dining companion had the ISE Karaage Ramen. Their fried chicken is really good here too and I'll be sure to get a side dish next time. We had to sit at the corner of the counter that faces the door so every time the door opened we got a cold blast of air. I would so sit right there next time with my coat on to eat ramen again if it's as good as it was this time.
