TLDR Version* Wrong about wait first, lied about wait second. Undercooked pizza with bits of raw dough. No refundin fact claimed they couldn't do so, the only possibility was another long wait for a pizza. Never apologized and made to feel as if the fault was ours entirely because they were busy when we orderedwhich I guess my bad, sorry for ordering gents, won't happen again.
This truly was one of the better pizzas I have ever eaten. I have noticed something over the last year, not all the time, but some days were subpar compared to other days. Never cared enough to track it, as my duty is to report directly when it gets too far bad, and any reasonable business to weigh whether my words are true or not.
Despite the possibility of a great pizza, I can no longer go there. The wait was about 35-40 over what was stated. When my wife got there, they told her 8-10 minutes. I can understand being behind. That happens. The extra 25 minutes after that, while irritating is forgivable. You simply wasted her time standing there.
The pizza got home, parts of the dough was not cooked thoroughly as there was many places there was raw or uncooked dough. Still forgivable. I can see people being mad, and we called and reported that. My wife was understandably unhappy with the long wait for an under-cooked pizza. Didn't swear, didn't stray off-topic. We offered to bring back the proof, and the suggestion was another pizza, which she just wanted her money put back on the card, but they claimed was impossible. Again we offered to come by.
What was unforgivable was we were told it was busy. Nothing else. No sorry. We have ordered from there a moderate amount(couple times a month on average), and mentioned it to local people. We didn't mention that during the call, because I think doing that is a poor tactic. We aren't going to make or break them. We are not a large family or a big company.
I mention it now because it probably doesn't matter we will move on because while we aren't dropping huge amounts of money on them, we are regulars who always told others of good experiences.
I guess we were stupid to call. Our mistake. We will take the blame. Our fault for not shutting up and eating food that could potentially get us sick. We are in the wrong for not wanting to wait to potentially 9pm to eat for something we placed a few minutes before 6pm. Please accept my accept my shortcomings for not being some big customer. Please accept our apology for...
Read moreMajor shout out to Nick and Joe as well as all the other employees that work at Tortorices‘s you run a very clean efficient and effective business that treats its clients like family; seriously you gentlemen run a very tight ship and I appreciate that; You guys are truly set in the bar for excellence when it comes to customer service you have not just set the bar for excellence when it comes to customer service but you’ve broken the bar and set a new standard. Your guys pizza is absolutely amazing. One of the best pizza experiences in Chicagoland. I personally have been coming here since about 2014 so that’s 10+ years that I’ve been coming here to get pizza. I was first introduced to the spot by my brother in Christ and military battle brother Frankie Indihar we served in the US Navy together on the same ship.
From the moment you walk in the door, you will be greeted by the most pleasing food aroma you have ever smelled in your life It just smells so good. The food tasted even better once you’re in the door you’ll be greeted by your host not to mention that like the whole theme of Tortorices is kind of like this old school Italian vibe. You can tell that from the photos and the videos that I’ve posted. No matter what you order here whether it’s pizza, Italian beef, the chicken tenders or any of their other menu options. I am absolutely sure you will be pleasantly pleased.
Another thing that I really like about this location is that whenever you order a pizza I’m the pizza box. It has a little coupon and if you save 20 of those coupons, you get a free pizza I love stuff like that. As I was saying, your host will pop out from around the corner greet you with a smile and the level of professionalism that kind of makes you think to yourself this company really takes care of its employees because they’re happy to...
Read moreTried another new place and again, extremely disappointed! I always get my favorite Chicken Parmesan dinner from Mr. Beef and Pizza, but I thought I’d give Tortorices a try because my sweet tooth had a hankering for Tiramisu. Which Mr. Beef does not have. This is the 1st restaurant out of all the restaurants I’ve eaten at that does not include pasta noodles with the Chicken Parmesan! Wtf? Then as I was eating I noticed some bitter tasting bites, turns out there were burnt pieces on my 2 chicken pieces! Very unappetizing. I should have known something was up when they offered either a baked potato or French fries as a side to my dinner. Never been offered a baked potato as a side to a chicken Parmesan dinner! The fried zucchini sticks were actually very good and they gave a lot in 1 order, however I wish there had been an option for marinara sauce to accompany the fried zucchini and not forced to take Ranch dressing that I threw away. The mediocre Tiramisu was not worth the aggravation. Mr. Beef you are still my favorite and reliable place to get chicken Parmesan which I will be ordering sometime soon! Although it’s annoying ordering from Grub Hub and then after you pay finding out Tortorices does not deliver with Grub Hub so you cannot track your driver, I will say the delivery driver was very nice and the best part of my dining experience! My pictures show no pasta with the chicken and burnt black pieces on the chicken. It is a large entree covered in a ton of mozzarella cheese but where are...
