This place DOES NOT accommodate large parties well. We made reservations saying 15-25 people for a future Monday date. They told us they would call Saturday to confirm, they never did. We tried to call multiple times to tell them our number is 25 however no response. Then day of we told them 25 and asked for the tables to be closer so we can sit together as a family. The owner end up coming out saying we can’t push tables together and that “if we wanted a better area to sit then we should have booked the party room.” I asked well can we sit over there and she said no I am not making last minute changes and wouldn’t move a single four top to have children sit closer. She seemed to be perturbed that we were went from 15 to 25 people which we stated could possibly be a thing since the beginning. I don’t know why she would be so upset with us giving her more business but she was. She was a very rude, snobby, older woman. On top of that our food didn’t all come out all at once. We had people done with their food before others even got their food. We had to ask for it three times. Had to ask for alcoholic drinks multiple times before receiving them, after waiting for a half hour for a beer! Bottom line if you are looking for great customer service and a place able to accommodate large parties, this is NOT the place! Even if it is a Monday night and the restaurant is...
Read moreHello everyone, if you love Mexican restaurant like I do, and haven't visited Don Jose's. You might want to rethink your life. We sit at the table and like any good Mexican restaurant we are greeted to chips and salsa. Most places in this area blend thare salsa witch if fine however Don Jose's seems to be made more traditionaly with a mortar and pestle With phenomenal flavor. To start we had the wings as an app. Amazing flavor and extremely crispy. But the wing are not the start of the show .The Carne Asada was perfect, tender ,and juicy with grate flavor, simple like a steak should be, accompanied by some of the best rice and beans you'll find in Indiana. We also indulged in the los natcos (chicken) from the cheese to the meat and the onions on top, thare wasn't a single bite I regretted. Outstanding food isn't the only thing you will find here. Jessica was our server and it felt like we were visiting a friend's house. The interaction started with a grate conversation.
For a 5 Star dinning experience like this in this area you could look at a bill of only $61.64 for two compared to others at $100+ To be clear thare is no reason not to visit Don Jose's Amazing food Great vibe And and an...
Read moreI have driven by here hundreds of times and barely knew this was here. This is a gem!
We went for lunch, and the specials were reasonably priced. I got yhe fajitas, my daughter got yhe taco salad.
They are a family-run restaurant, with food made in-house. The salsa, chips, even the ranch dressing They served with the chips.
Service was good, prompt and friendly. She left a carafe of water and got our drinks quickly.
The food was excellent. You could taste the love. Even the Spanish rice had something extra to it.
Next time I go, I will ask for the mango pork tacos... apparently it's not on the menu, but the wait staff will recommend it if you ask for their favorites. It sounded amazing, but I was too full to eat more.
Price was reasonable for sit-down, especially in this economy.
Decor was fun... resort style. They do have limited outdoor seating, if you are looking to enjoy the weather.
Parking is easy, and it was clean and well bussed.
I will definitely be back. I haven't been too impressed with a lot of local Mexican restaurants, but this one is at/near the...
