Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Ellensburg

Hadn't gone here for three years because the customer service and wait time was so bad on that occasion. Unfortunately, things didn't change today. The restaurant was fully staffed and business was steady but not overwhelming. The guy next to me waited close to 15 minutes for a milkshake and when they gave it to him it wasn't the flavor he ordered. Another guy waited quite a while for his combo order for his family. He took his food and drinks out to the car and told the employee at the front counter he would come back for the sundaes. When he did and asked for them they weren't made because the same employee said, "I didn't know if you were coming back". Are you kidding me? As for my sundae? Also a 15 minute wait and the employee tasked with making it didn't know how to and waited over 10 minutes before finally asking another employee for help. Maybe I'll give them another try in three years. Or then again....Maybe not and I'm guessing the two other guys are probably going elsewhere to...

When I travel, I like to stop in for a small cone. I have been eating at DQ for four decades, but they have gotten too expensive for the value and that is exactly what I experienced yesterday. $3.78 for a KIDDIE CONE.

edit - I told the cashier I wanted the smallest cone they had. When she told me the price, I confirmed it was for the smallest cone. She said yes. I expected like a "small" cone, but not the KIDDIE cone.

I refused it and the teenagers behind the counter got really annoyed "We don't price the food."

I get that, but when someone refuses their expensive rip off food, they should expect it and handle it without being jerks.

I have not recently ordered food (other than ice cream) at any Dairy Queens and am not sure whether the prices here are unusual, but I was surprised that the pre-tax price for a Flamethrower (double) was over $9.00--that's not the full-meal price. Some items were over $10. There were three other members of my party, and we ordered around 9:00 p.m., so that I expect the food was made to order, but they might have held mine back or something, because it seemed only lukewarm when I bit into it in the parking lot. I have no other complaints, but the next time I am passing through, I will try to remember to get off I-5 at the more easterly exit and benefit from the greater number of fast food options (and competition...
