The worst experience ever. And the food wasn’t good either. When the people who are supposed to serve you treat you bad and mess up your food also…it just doesn’t make any sense to support a business that won’t help itself. The cashier who took my order, Carey was rude from the moment I placed my order on the phone telling me they were closing at 7(it was 6:30 when I called to place my order) I told her I lived in the neighbourhood and I could be there ASAP, she told me it would be 10 minutes, I get there and nothing was ready but she tells me I ordered too late and that’s why they’re taking too long. . After she made a mistake by giving my food to another customer she got mad at me and told me it wasn’t her fault and that she’s over worked and alone all day. I asked for a refund and she told me she didn’t know how to do it. She ended up giving me something different of less value and basically threw at me and walked off to the back away from me. Didn’t apologise or acted sorry for the mistake she made or the way she was treating me. My food was stale and had a hair in it and it seemed like it wasn’t fresh or from the past few days even..employees can only do so much. I’ve worked at a restaurant before and u understand, but management should know better. I will be calling to speak with someone and I also think the metro health department should be involved. The place was filthy. From what I saw through the doors in the kitchen.
As soon as we saw there was a hair in our food and my salmon was smelly and the bread was stale we stopped eating and threw away the food. My advice, save your money and don’t waste your time. There are plenty of other local restaurants with better customer service and higher standards with food quality in Ellicott City willing and able to satisfy without the unfortunate drama and...
Read moreMy recent visit to the European-style Bistro Bakery in Ellicott City, Maryland left me thoroughly impressed and utterly delighted. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a truly exceptional experience.
The attention to detail in both the establishment's aesthetics and the quality of their offerings is truly remarkable. The warm, inviting ambiance instantly put me at ease, and I found myself drawn to the charming, rustic decor that exudes an authentic European flair. This attention to creating a welcoming environment is not something you find everywhere, and it's a testament to the establishment's commitment to customer comfort.
Now, let's talk about the croissants. Oh, what a treat! The croissants here are nothing short of perfection. They are flaky, buttery, and baked to golden perfection. Each bite is a delightful journey of textures and flavors. Pairing one of their croissants with a latte is like a match made in heaven. The lattes are expertly crafted, offering a rich, aromatic experience that complements the pastries beautifully.
What truly sets this place apart is the dedication to product quality. It's evident that they take pride in the craftsmanship of their offerings, and that commitment shines through in every bite and sip.
In summary, the European-style Bistro Bakery in Ellicott City is a hidden gem that shouldn't remain hidden. Read moreVisited the new location in Frederick, MD - first and last time. The customer service was truly awful. None of the staff were friendly during that visit; however one person in particular was plain RUDE! The lady with the buzz cut hairstyle and arm tattoos, whom I’m assuming was the person in charge, acted like she had an attitude. When I ordered the “recommended” ham and cheese on baguette that’s clearly posted on the wall, she rudely told the cashier who was taking my order that they didn’t have baguettes. I wasn't offered a reason as to why they didn’t have baguettes(did they run out???) or an option for a substitute…. or even asked if I wanted to order something else. Instead the lady with the buzz cut walked off and the cashier just stood there and looked at me. Then when I ordered a chicken salad on croissant and told the cashier that I didn’t need the extra mayo they offered for the bread, the buzz cut lady misinterpreted what I said and rudely stated “if you don’t want mayo, then you don’t want chicken salad.” I repeated that I did not want EXTRA mayo on my BREAD. Lastly, when buzz cut lady called out my name to pick up my order, there was another “to go” order beside mine so I kindly asked her if the brown paper bag one was mine and without looking at me and opening her mouth, she said “uhmmm.” Definitely no pleasantries with her! Other than the nice set up inside, the Frederick location was not personally welcoming. If this is how it felt during the first week of opening, I can imagine the rudeness once it’s been...
