China Eagle — Restaurant in Ellington

I’ve been a loyal customer here since moving to the area in 2020, but unfortunately, something has clearly changed under the new ownership, to which I was unaware of. While I was away on business travel, I missed the transition, and only discovered it when I ordered my go-to dish, General Tso’s chicken.

The difference was immediate. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and missing the vegetables that used to come standard. The pork fried rice was equally disappointing—hard, flavorless, and nothing like what this restaurant used to serve and the egg roll tasted very different…

I have been going to this restaurant for three years now and I have never had a bad experience. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, service is excellent and the food is fresh and delicious. This is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant!

Update 2021 Still love this place and the people, but I have to drop you guys down a star. I keep getting told to come MUCH too early for when my food will be ready. Tonight I was told 30 mins and knew it wasn’t going to be ready so I actually came 1 hour later… still not ready and was told another 15 mins. So 1 hour 15 mins for my food I had already gave an extra 30 mins for. Not cool guys. To clarify it was for 1 soup, 2 apps and 1 meal… 1...

Use to go to China Taste in Rockville on Rte 30, after Covid they jacked their prices up and the quality went down. China Eagle, this place is awesome!!!! I've never had a bad order of food from here. The quality, quantity, is spot on. Chicken fingers, Crab Rangoon Egg, and shrimp rolls are never greasy like other places. The last few times I've placed orders the phone never stops ringing, so it takes the 1 person off from cooking and slows the process down some. Not complaining, I will wait for...
